The Ref's New Lids

The logo on the front of the cap is there to distinguish the NFL officials on the field from the CFL, NCAA and Arena League officials that might also be on the field during a game.

My best guess is that these caps are going to be "Super Bowl only" caps and won't become full time gear - not unlike the shield logo on the 50 and the sublimated shield logo on the end zone nets.

Au Contrere, mon rockchalk Jayhawk. They have been seen at the last couple Super Bowls.

"I better go take a long walk off a short pier or something."

Some people on this bolard have told me to do just that.

My "Ron Mexico" alias is "Jon Tobago".

Yeah, how else would we know that we were watching an NFL game? It's not like they painted a giant logo at midfield or anything.

I think the NFL was a little too logo happy with the ref unis. I hope it's only for the Super Bowl.

There was a NFL Logo on the Net at Super Bowl XXXVII

And I wont be surprised to see the SHield on hats full time now so they can sell them.

Whom are they going to sell the hats to? I don't see Referee hats as casual wear. Unless Lil Jon starts a new craze with the NFL referee hats (with the perfectly flat bill and new-hat sticker), I don't see them being the new craze in headwear.
