Brian in Boston
Anyone else notice that the story steers away from mentioning that Olajuwon once teamed with Ralph Sampson to form the Houston Rockets' "Twin Towers".Talk about a truly sick irony. Magus
sounds like a case where he didn't know about the ties the charity had. most charities are scams or fronts for questionable activities to begin with. Very few are actually legit. for example, the AIDS charities. they come out with a sob story about AIDS; promise the people if they send money a cure will be found; then the people send them the money and the charities pocket the cash, do nothing and a year later come out with a sob story about aids asking for more money. same with the cancer charities. Brian in Boston
ok you lost me. how is this ironic when it comes to terrorism. please elaborate. Because, to date, al-Qaida's most devastating attack on the West - at least in the in the hearts and minds of Americans - has been the destruction of the World Trade Center in New York. The World Trade Center towers were often referred to as the "Twin Towers". During their playing days together with the Houston Rockets, Hakeem Olajuwon and Ralph Sampson were nicknamed the "Twin Towers".Hakeem Olajuwon donated more than $80,000 to charities that the United States government later determined to be fronts for the terror groups al-Qaida and Hamas.
