Arizona buisnessman Reggie Fowler has agreed in principal to buy the Minnesota Vikings from current owner Red McCombs for around $630 million (US). If this happens, Fowler would become the first African-American owner in modern NFL history.

Some people on this bolard have told me to do just that.

What are you doing editing my quotes? Your first name isn't James, is it?

This isn't a done deal yet. The NFL owners must still sign-off on it and there are skeptics who believe the billionaire owners will be hesitant to approve a deal involving a non-billionaire owner.

As for whether they'll stay, none of the news reports I've read on this even address the question -- which is disappointing. I think it's what most people want to know.

Yay Boise!!

Well Arizona is not far from LA, although I think they will stay in the Twins Cities, I think they will at least flirt with Los Angeles to force Minnesota to fork over the dough for a new stadium.

Fowler is all ready to move his family and business to Minneapolis. They arent moving. If the deal falls through, Timberwolves billionaire owner Glen Taylor will be right there to snatch them up. And if he owns, they definitely arent moving.

I've been hoping all along that the franchise lands in Taylor's hands. He's a responsible owner and a sensible one, too. He's been purposely low-balling Red McCombs in hopes that all other suitors fall through.

Well, you're (both) wrong!"

It should be "I hear that Boise wants an NFL team."

CC, Roger, PLEASE stop plagerizing my material. Your names aren't "Milton" and "Berle".

Responsible? You must have forgotten the hidden deal with Joe Smith and the penalties that he and the team suffered from that. The loss of 1st round picks ended with teh 2004 draft.
