Houston Hurricanes Fantasy Arena Football Concept

Just wanted to show off the unveiling of my World Arena Football League squad, the Houston Hurricanes. When I had to come up with a name in a pinch I thought back to the early days of my fantasy football league, the RFL.One of the original franchises was the Houston Hurricanes.I thought this was perfect since they were no longer around and their unis and logos already existed, and I would just update to a modern look and give them an arena ball feel. For comparison I posted the orginal 1994-96 Hurricanes' unis here.Way back in 1994 the coloring was inspired by the Charlotte Hornets although(and I'm sure PANTONE can/will shed some more light on this) I'm sure that "Hurricane Electric Blue" is so wild and bright and cant popssibly be recreated as it appears here.I kept it that color because that's how it came out when I drew it with pencil and markers way back when and then later when I posted the MS Paint version here last year for the league's 10th anniversary.Interested in seeing what you guys think and have to say about it and as always.....enjoy!!

EDIT:About the helmet and it's logo, that's just as I drew it by hand 11 years ago.I was really into grunge and alternative music back then and that trickled over into my non-sports art as well. The center "eye" is exactly that....a bright blue eye complete with purple iris, just as it was in '94.

That looks great, especially the guy you have on the unis on the second set. :D That reminds me, I'm just trying to find clearer pics of the style of "2" like the Bills wore on their jerseys during the Super Bowl years. I have pretty much everything else together for the Bills jersey. I'll let you know whenever I'm ready, which right now I'm pretty close.

The RGB on the blue is R-100,G-177,B-255.Like I said it's a wild color and I seriously doubt it exists anywhere except maybe a neon blue.I'm interested to hear if PANTONE has any info on if there is a color in sports anywhere near this.Again the scheme was inspired by the 1993-94 Charlotte Hornets and since it was drawn in pencil and watercolor markers originally, that's how their blue came out on paper when I designed this, and I decided to keep the bright blue 10 years later.

Whoa! The package looks great! The colors can be annoying if you stare at them too long though.

I really like the way you have modernized the uniforms. The lines on the jersey look really good.

The logo with the eye in it is very cool... and clever!

I'd make the helmet / uni's predominantly BLACK w/ highlights / streaks of that bright blue...

as the primary, that high blue undoubtably steals the attention from the logo, which should be the focus

was looking at it again... if you make the helmet black, it would really make that logo stand out, and look like the "all seeing eye" and also reminisecent of the hubble image from deep space, that looked like "gods eye"

PANTONE 305 C is the closest Pantone color to your choice, but it doesn't LOOK all that close. Other options could be 2925 C, 639 C, or 7461 C. Or, you could go nuts and use 801 C - which is a PANTONE Day-Glo color. It's a florescent.

Thank you PANTONE! :D I did'nt think there was visually another color very close to that, but just out of curiousity are there any teams in sports that wear/use 305 C,or the other ones you mentioned?

The only one of those being used (as far as I know) is 2925 C by the Lexington Horsemen of the NIFL. And, the Cooperstown Collection estimated 2925 C for the Blue in the old "Phil and Phyllis" logo for the Phillies.

That's it.

Well I'm rarely ever against black,so I'll try your changes and see how they come out.Remember the reason everything is how it is because I wanted to stay true to the orginal that I drew when I was 17,and the orginal used these colors.
