KennyRock
MLB.com StoryThought it was kinda eerie, seeing as how he was in the answer to Will's baseball trivia not five days ago.
IronChefShark
doesnt surprise me one bit.he has had three or four setbacks in his rehabilitation since the 2002 World Series was over. Also when the Giants went out and signed Benitez they pretty much were saying to Robb that they dont expect him to be right ever again. All the other teams must be taking that to heart because it definitly appears that nobody else was willing to take a chance on him.Just too many setbacks. Finally he got the hint, its time to hang them up.
slapshot
This leaves MLB without any active palindromes, doesn't it?
NJTank
Yeah I heard he had another setback too. Its a sahme he could not make it back for at least one year.
Puckguy14
Yeah, sad to see. Nothing better than Hell's Bells as he walks onto the mound from the pullpen at then Pacific Bell Park.
sacker12
I was bummed out to see that he retired. I was wondering about why I hadn't seen him in so long. I found out when I read the story about him having shoulder problems last week. It was pretty gutsy of him pitching with a bum shoulder in the World Series trying to help out his team. Wasn't it Percival of the Angels that came out to Hell's Bells? I remember it was some relief pitcher / closer that came out to that song?

JamesCraven
Lost in all this is the fact that Rusty Greer of the Texas Rangers also retired this week.

CZzyzx41
I will say that Robb Nen gave me a lot of bad memories by beating my Padres. Robb's a class act all the way. Sad to see his career cut short but I agree it was time to call it quits. He'll be missed. Sort of.
