IronChefShark Posted February 21, 2005 Posted February 21, 2005 doesnt surprise me one bit.he has had three or four setbacks in his rehabilitation since the 2002 World Series was over. Also when the Giants went out and signed Benitez they pretty much were saying to Robb that they dont expect him to be right ever again. All the other teams must be taking that to heart because it definitly appears that nobody else was willing to take a chance on him.Just too many setbacks. Finally he got the hint, its time to hang them up. US state flag concepts

sacker12 Posted February 21, 2005 Posted February 21, 2005 I was bummed out to see that he retired. I was wondering about why I hadn't seen him in so long. I found out when I read the story about him having shoulder problems last week. It was pretty gutsy of him pitching with a bum shoulder in the World Series trying to help out his team.
IronChefShark Posted February 21, 2005 Posted February 21, 2005 Yeah, sad to see. Nothing better than Hell's Bells as he walks onto the mound from the pullpen at then Pacific Bell Park. it wasnt Hells Bells, it was Smoke on the Water. US state flag concepts

Wasn't it Percival of the Angels that came out to Hell's Bells? I remember it was some relief pitcher / closer that came out to that song?

Nothing better than Hell's Bells as he walks onto the mound from the pullpen at then Pacific Bell Park. my most fond Robb Nen memory was in the 02 NLCS when he shut down the cards a few times, it wasnt his performance that i remember, it was thinking to myself, oh yeah baby, Nen is in, its over. CZzyzx41 Posted February 22, 2005 Posted February 22, 2005 I will say that Robb Nen gave me a lot of bad memories by beating my Padres. Robb's a class act all the way. Sad to see his career cut short but I agree it was time to call it quits. He'll be missed. Sort of. -DanielCheck Out My Podcast!
