From the Rocky Mountain News:

I've also seen speculation that the Nuggets will look to make a trade with the Bucks for Michael Redd.  However, I've read that Michael Redd would like to retire as a Buck, as they were willing to take a chance on him.

And if that doesn't happen... you could see Ray Allen in a Nuggets jersey next season.  :D

God I'd love that, but I think Allen is using us as a way to drive his price up. Remember, he and Karl don't exactly have the best relationship.

Seattle's Ray Allen says he could play for Karl in Denver

All-Star guard had stormy relationship in past with coach

That frost between Ray Allen and George Karl appears to be thawing.

Allen, the star guard, and Karl, the demanding coach, clashed when they were in Milwaukee, but Karl said recently he would like to repair the relationship.

Apparently Allen would, too.

A reserve guard for the Western Conference All-Stars, Allen said Friday that he would be open to playing for Karl on the Nuggets. Allen will be a free agent next season but also could be traded if a sign-and-trade deal could be worked out.

"When the time comes it, if it comes to that, definitely I wouldn't turn that down," Allen said. "I can look at it and try to figure out if that will be best for my career, if it's going to be a good situation. I wouldn't say 'no' because George is the coach because I have nothing against George."

Karl on Friday night again seemed ready to make amends. "I can't deny that toward the end of our time in Milwaukee things started to turn south," he said.

"And looking back, a lot of those problems were probably caused by some of the decisions I made. But as far as a basketball player, Ray Allen was always first-class."

Allen, traded to Seattle during the 2002 season for Gary Payton, said he suffered from Karl's comparisons of him to Payton.

"One of the ways we went wrong is (Karl) always wanted Gary Payton for the organization in Milwaukee," Allen said. "When he talked about things, he wanted me to do better, it was almost like he wanted me to be Gary Payton."

The Nuggets could have about $7 million in salary cap room after the season.

I'd like to add that Orlando has declined a trade that would send the Nuggets' Andre Miller, Skita, and Voshon Lenard to the Magic for Steve Francis, who's been problematic since Mobley was traded.

Just saw on The Score that the Sixers have called a midnight ET news conference to announce they have traded Kenny Thomas, Corliss Williamson and Brian Skinner to Sacramento for Chris Webber, Matt Barnes and Michael Bradley.

"Oh, Webber!"

Yes, it will be confirmed. His first scheduled game you ask? Saturday against Sacto.

"I better go take a long walk off a short pier or something."

Some people on this bolard have told me to do just that.

My "Ron Mexico" alias is "Jon Tobago".

That works out real nicely.

Iverson with Chris Webber could be scary. I see the Sixers winning the Atlantic Division with ease.

Kings trade Webber to 76ers

PHILADELPHIA (AP) - All-Star Chris Webber was traded from Sacramento to the Philadelphia 76ers late Wednesday night as part of a stunning six-player deal.

The Sixers sent Brian Skinner, Kenny Thomas and Corliss Williamson to the Kings for Webber, Matt Barnes and Michael Bradley.

The Sixers called a news conference just before midnight. The deal comes one day before the NBA trading deadline.

Sixers president Billy King was looking to make a deal to improve the Sixers frontcourt as they make their playoff push. The Sixers are 26-27 and just a half game behind Boston for first place in the Atlantic Division.

Kings general manager Geoff Petrie had been shopping Webber, who has three years about $62 million left on his contract. The Kings are 34-20 going and are 7{ games behind Phoenix in the Pacific Division.

King insisted he wouldn't part with any of his prized nucleus of young players to make a deal and he didn't have to.

Thomas had fallen out of favor with first-year Sixers coach Jim O'Brien, while Brian Skinner was a free-agent bust. Corliss Williamson was a valuable sixth man off the bench, but none of them have the pedigree of Webber.

ok we get two players who kind of suck and a dude we had a few years ago but let go because we didnt think he was talented enough, oh boy what a great trade!!!! Sry but that just makes a bad bad bad day even worse

Webber! Sixers should win that division with ease. We are now a contender to go to the Finals.

Not a serious contender, however. Just stick to winning the division for now.

Obviously Miami and Detroit are the favorites. But we have a good chance too.

True, anything is possible with Iverson playing the way he has this year. It all depends on what all happens before the trade deadline. If the Cavaliers get Michael Redd, for instance -- they're my pick to take it.

Even with Redd I dont think cavs could handle Miami or Detroit even. If they do though I can tell you who will be the East's final 4.

Here's the way I see it, though.

LeBron in the playoffs. Who knows how good he'll be? I'm picking him to be god-like so I'm not like one of those guys that thought he'd struggle coming into the league. He could absolutely tear it up and carry that entire team on his shoulders through the playoffs. I can't see him struggling because of the pressure because he came into the league with that much pressure. Add one of the better shooters in the NBA and a guy who could tear you up on any given night himself and an All-Star big man.

This trade makes the 76ers the Atlantic Division Champs for sure but it makes no sense for the KIngs. The Kings were a contender now they can forget about it I guess their window of oppertunity has just been closed.
