tweaking the Denver Nuggets logo

the milwaukee bucks thread got me thinking about another team that could use a little tweaking. i ran across the monstrosity that is the denver nuggets logo. i personally liked the other logo they had with the red, navy and gold. i don't care for the light blue and yellow scheme. so i did some tweaking to the logo. i used a darker two tone blue with a darker shade of yellow-gold.

I personally like these colors better than the light blue / yellow they have now (hmm...I also like the Fouts era uni's better than the SD powder blues.)

However, since a few teams have recently gone the two-tone blue route lately (including Memphis, which has a similiar gold color), Denver may need something a little more unique.

Just on its own (not considering the rest of the league,) I like it.

I think the current Nuggets logo is the best one in their history.

Personally, I've always thought the logo below was the best in Nuggets history.

Here it is after you slap the new Nuggets color scheme on it. I think this look really nice!

You watermarked someone elses design? why?

It took a lot of time to color that in. He wants it to be protected.

Crayons are not cheap. :D

Funny guys! :P No, first of all it took me a long time to find a good enough source of this logo to scan in so I could vectorize it. If you go around the web you probably won't find a very good JPEG of this logo. The best one you would find is probably the one below found off of remembertheaba.com. So why should I post a logo on the web so someone could just come by and steal the JPEG and use it for their own source or website? I've had a lot of requests for the AI file of this logo so I know it's a hot item.

I could give you 2921 reasons why you should.

So you're telling me that everytime I decide to vectorize an old ABA logo I should just through out the AI files on the net just because I wasn't the original designer or owner of that logo? I created the logo for my own personal use, not to profit from it! Vectorizing old logo's is kind of a hobbie of mine, why throw out my hard work? You know all kind of people are skimming these boards just to steal stuff.

Yes, please do give me the 2921 reasons. You can PM me some of them if you want.

Vector? You said JPEG.

And you want 2921 reasons?... It's easier just to point you here... 2921 Reasons Why You Should Share JPEG Logos Rather than Keep em for yourself

You know how many of those I spend many hours creating?

Opps! Sorry for the confusion.

I had no idea you created some of those logos so I'll give you props for that! happy34.gif I'm just a little hesitant to post my own personal work on here because everybody seems to bash on me no matter what I say or do. I mean I would be more willing to share my work if people shared some of their resources with me.

I should automatically get to take anything anyone makes ;)

Sometimes it's fun to watch some of the other sites when they add logos, usually seem to be the same ones i added a week ago.

Not that I'm complaining or anything, just comes with the territory.

So you can understand why I hold back a little bit though, right? Call me a little greedy but I just know how quickly stuff flies around the web just like you said!

Almost anything you post online can be stolen. You can even extract vectors and jpegs and such from flash files. That's the inherent risk you have of posting anything on the internet. If you don't want anything stolen, don't post.

If all you did to a logo was vectorize it, but then put your watermark over it so it looks like your work, is fraud. It looks like you created the logo. All you did was trace it. Recolorizing it as part of a larger concept is one thing. But if I vectorized the Utah Jazz logo and posted it with my watermark, which pretty much signifies it as my copyright, I'd look like an ass and a thief.

And it's hobby with a y.

Whatever dude, you don't know what the hell you're talking about. Yeah I vectorized the old Denver Nuggets logo but that file is my file, there isn't another file like it in the world. So I put a watermark over it, who the hell cares! Call the Nuggets Organization and turn me in, I don't give a $hit and neither will they. I'm one of thousands of people who have vectorized logos and until I use it for my own profit or claim the logo is mine then I'm fine!

Also, you can't pull a vector file out of a JPEG. I don't know what the hell you're smokin'. And yes, you can extract vector files out of Macromedia Flash (SWF) files but that's why you lock 'em up. Oh no, you got me shakin' now.......scared09.gif

Enough with your harassment. If you don't like what I'm doing then shut the hell up and go about YOUR OWN damn business.

I'm so glad all that time away from the boards gave you time to reflect on your attitude, skippy.

It has nothing to do with my attitude! You keep criticizing what I'm doing, what the hell do you expect. You would get pissed too! Get the hell away and I'll be a lot more cheerful for ya Clyde!
