Texas Rangers Red Caps

Let me just take it to a disturbing level: The fact that Angels and Rangers share the "ANGE" makes those mid/late 1990s font/unis they shared even worse. Yes the Angels took the all-red look after the Rangers went to blue and a Texas switch back now would make them look similar, but it's nothing compared to how the two teams looked before the Cali Angels were Disnified.... IMO, of course.

Oooh you stole what I was gonna say...

I once had a B&W picture of Ken Hill wearing a Rangers jersey, from around 96 or so with his arms covering the R and RS of RANGERS, so all you could read was ANGE, and he happened to get traded to Anaheim around that time as well -- I thought it was ironic.

The fonts are so similar.

I am wathing the Kenny Rogers perfect game from 1994 on ESPN Classic reght now (6:40 pm on Monday 3/7), and it really looks like the Rangers' red caps do not have the drop shadow.

Maybe they had both styles of cap (drop shadow and no drop shadow) at different times during the period they wore the red-based uniform. (Incidentally, this is what my brother Michael Cesarano, who is the author of The Mets Uniform Database at UltimateMets.com, thinks is the case.)

Well let's see what they knocked off while Dubya was in charge.

  • Red Sox-style lettering.
  • Phillies cap colors.
  • Can't remember anything else.

Rip-off artists.

Some people on this bolard have told me to do just that.

I prefer the Rangers in blue caps, however they are one of a few teams that look good in the Red ones. :D

I like the blue with the black bill. Damn, I just happen to have it on my head.

Anyone here remember when the A's coaches and managers wore white caps with green bills for regular-season and postseason games? I know it was a Charlie Finley thing (it was first used in Kansas City), and I originally thought it was kind of stupid. Now, I actually miss it. Bring it back, A's.
