he should stay...Chaney's many things, but the black version of Bob Knight ain't one of em.

You're right -- Bob Knight has done a lot more bad things in his career. However, nothing Bob Knight did was as bad as Chenney either saying he was going to kill Calipari or sending a player out to intentionally injure another player.

Chaney should definitely be fired. Since he had the poor judgement of sending in one of his bruisers, he should have been aware of the fact that since he told this certain player to foul hard and hurt them that there was a good chance that he could seriously hurt the player that was fouled. That was absolutely stupid of him to make his players to such a thing. What he did was the equivalent of a football coach sending a player to clothesline or kneecap the other team's quarterback or other major player, or even a manager sending in a pitcher to bean the opponent's best player. He deserves to be severely punished for his actions.

UPDATE: Cheney will now sit out the A-10 Tourney.

"I better go take a long walk off a short pier or something."

Some people on this bolard have told me to do just that.

My "Ron Mexico" alias is "Jon Tobago".

And we know this never happens. <_< Who exactly was the last football or baseball coach to be fired for this?

I hope this makes the headhunters happy now. This is probably a little more appropriate of a suspension anyway.

"It is the soldier, not the reporter, who has given us freedom of the

press. It is the soldier, not the poet, who has given us freedom of

speech. It is the soldier, not the campus organizer, who has given us

the freedom to demonstrate. And it is the soldier who salutes the

flag, serves beneath the flag, whose coffin is draped by the flag, and

who allows the protester to burn the flag."
