slapshot
3. New England- Is Rohan Davey even good, or is he just there because Brady simply doesnt get hurt? Let Flutie add even more character to this franchise. Brings Flutie back to the market that embraced him in college. Davey has a surprisingly strong arm. I didn't get to watch much of him in NFLEurope games, but the few preseason games I've watched, and a few blowouts games that Brady was taken out, Davey has a smooth release and the ball comes off it like a cannon. He does have a problem hitting receivers, though. But there is an opening for a 3rd QB now that Jim Miller signed elsewhere as a free agent. Flutie has said he didn't want to leave San Diego, especially since his daughter is about to graduate high school (wow, I remember when he played college ball). I guess if he's going anywhere, it would make good sense for him to come back home where he is still well received by the fans and still runs a few charities this way.Plus, if this his the future career path, as a mentor/3rd QB, it could prepare him for a life as a QB coach. puckcool22
I think he would be in popular demand for a qb coach. While nfl players generally get bigger, there will always be a few undersized qbs. I bet any undersized qb is still bigger than doug, so who better than to flutie to teach small qbs how to see past those big lineman.

Phil
Doesnt winnipeg need a QB? Kevin Glenn or Doug Flutie: who would you take? No, Winnipeg doesn't need a QB.Winnipeg, although still competitive if you ask me, is in fact building for the future. Also, as a publically-owned franchise, we don't have the financing to bring in that kind of contract.Besides, between Glenn and hot prospect Tee Martin, we're optimistic that we'll be set for years to come. Glenn isn't as flashy or as much a playmaker as a Casey Printers, but he's more than a serviceable QB.- he's got decent wheels- playing behind an improved offensive line (got the deadwood [read: Elewonibi] out, developing the prospects, bringing in Mike Abou-Mechrek)- throwing to an improved receiving corps (Stegall, Kamau, Stoddard, Breedlove, McGarity)- playing in front of two of the best backs in the CFL (Regimbald blocking, Roberts making people look silly).Rather have those two (Glenn and Martin) than proven Can't Wins, like Nealon Greene, Henry Burris, or Marcus Crandell. ...back on topic...TSN's reporting that Hamilton's inquired about Flutie.
