WJMorris3
What's the only major league baseball team that ever saw every man carry the same batting average into and out of a regular season game, and in what year did it happen?(What I mean, is that every player on the roster had exactly the same batting average before the game and after the game.) RyanB06
1941. Cleveland's Bob Feller no-hit Chicago on Opening Day, which meant the White Sox started and ended the day with each batter having a .000 batting average.
CC97
I believe players start the season with a batting average of --- rather than .000 Since 0 divided by 0 is impossible.
RyanB06
Good point, CC. Math was never one of my strong points (not after high school, anyway).
WJMorris3
I rule that the White Sox in 1940 is correct. After all, most newspapers print the average at .000, or used to until very recently, if they have no at bats.
