CaolinaJoe
The homeplate ump is trying to make sure the Sox win at least once. They are squeezing the strike zone on Mussina, big time.

Gary
I really wouldn't mind starting 3 up on the sox yeah but then you're tied with the Yankees for first place, it's like winning the lottery, and then giving 70% of it to the government
CaolinaJoe
it's 0-0 Top of the fourth The point is, if you squeeze the zone you force the pitcher to throw the ball down the middle to get outs. Eventually a major league hitter will make him pay. Like now, it's bases loaded, no outs.

Heh, exactly -- I heard one announcer say "The Yankees haven't been to the World Series since 2003, so they are looking to get back in there" or something

As much as I hate them and as obnoxious as their fans are, at least they get to cheer for 162+ games a year that mean something.Oh, and they did win 4 of those trips.
