The_Admiral Posted April 12, 2005 Posted April 12, 2005 You see, I put serifs on the letters to match the logo. ♫ oh yeah, board goes on, long after the thrill of postin' is gone ♫
Mings Posted April 12, 2005 Posted April 12, 2005 not to be an , but this is basically the unis from the 80's with serifs on the name font. Now I'm gonna give a lil bit of history to the peeps that say black isn't necessary for the Reds. They have every right to use it. It was in the unis in the 40's and 50's all the way up until the Big Red Machine years. Granted right now they use a lil too much, being the black cap and black sleeves on the road. Give em red sleeves and the red cap (home cap) and they will hae used the perfect amount of black (basically the unis now are an update to the unis of the 50's).
The_Admiral Posted April 12, 2005 Author Posted April 12, 2005 I'm aware that it's an existing thing. As you can see from the title I was just messing aroundEven if they have precedent to incorporate black, it looks better without it because of the black trim abuse of recent years. ♫ oh yeah, board goes on, long after the thrill of postin' is gone ♫
OnWis97 Posted April 12, 2005 Posted April 12, 2005 It's what I wish they had.Red and white. It works for teh Wings, why not the reds. BBTV Posted April 12, 2005 Posted April 12, 2005 If "Reds" has serifs, and the names on the back, why not Cincinnati? "The views expressed here are mine and do not reflect the official opinion of my employer or the organization through which the Internet was accessed."

See Red Posted April 12, 2005 Posted April 12, 2005 Either way, they've abused their black using privileges and should have them revoked.
-kj Posted April 12, 2005 Posted April 12, 2005 Those serifs do look good. And you're so modest, everyone loves that.I'm not seeing serifs on the Cincinnati script, which would seem to be even more important to tie to the logo than the player name.I'm still looking for the "bold" or "daring" in this one, as well. mac Posted April 12, 2005 Posted April 12, 2005 a white outline around the numbers and stuff on the road uniform would make this set the perfect uniform for the reds.
quantum Posted April 12, 2005 Posted April 12, 2005 The reworking of the Hiroshima Carp uniform to fit the Reds is awesome "One of my concerns is shysters show up and take advantage of people's good will and generosity".

TFoA Posted April 13, 2005 Posted April 13, 2005 a white outline around the numbers and stuff on the road uniform would make this set the perfect uniform for the reds. Which would basically be the 80s home unis with early 90s away unis
Jungle Jim Posted April 15, 2005 Posted April 15, 2005 These are more closely related to the Reds uniforms of 1967-71 than they are to the ones of 1972-87 or 1988-92. The Reds uniforms of the 80s were pullovers with red and white trim on the collar and sleeves, and the double-knit red and white waistband. Other than being sleeveless, these are very close to the 1967-71 model, my favorite Reds uniforms of all time.
