NoHoJoe Posted April 14, 2005 Posted April 14, 2005 Is Major League Soccer going to expand in 2006? Will Philly have a team called A.C. Phliadelphia? Comments welcome! BRING BASEBALL BACK TO MONTREAL!!!! MON AMOURS SIEMPRE!!
Brian in Boston Posted April 14, 2005 Posted April 14, 2005 The only way that Major League Soccer expands in 2006 is if Club America insists that they want to launch an expansion franchise (as opposed to a relocated Kansas City or San Jose) in Houston in time for next season.More realistically, Houston and Toronto are the current front-runners to join MLS via expansion in 2007... again, provided that Kansas City and San Jose are able to stabilize in their current markets and not relocate to either Houston or Toronto. As for AC Philadelphia, I don't see it happening any time soon. There are too many existing hurdles to a Philly bid for the City of Brotherly Love to be considered a strong candidate for MLS expansion in the near future.
NJTank Posted April 14, 2005 Posted April 14, 2005 Toronto is gonna gte a MLS team sooner or later I think the MLS wants to expand North. It cant expand South because any MLS team in Mexico will be mocked, becuase Mexican Leagues are better. www.sportsecyclopedia.com For the best in sports history go to the Sports E-Cyclopedia at http://www.sportsecyclopedia.com
