TBGKon Posted April 15, 2005 Posted April 15, 2005 The Bowls will likely be played January 2nd really?....if so that sucks, i like my New Years Day Bowls, not the day after New Years Day bowls
NJTank Posted April 15, 2005 Posted April 15, 2005 Tahst the way its been in past years when New Years fell on a Sunday. www.sportsecyclopedia.com For the best in sports history go to the Sports E-Cyclopedia at http://www.sportsecyclopedia.com
CaolinaJoe Posted April 15, 2005 Posted April 15, 2005 Bowls are useless anymore. The BCS has totally destroyed the luster that all the New Year's day games used to have. "It is the soldier, not the reporter, who has given us freedom of thepress. It is the soldier, not the poet, who has given us freedom ofspeech. It is the soldier, not the campus organizer, who has given usthe freedom to demonstrate. And it is the soldier who salutes theflag, serves beneath the flag, whose coffin is draped by the flag, andwho allows the protester to burn the flag."Marine Chaplain Dennis Edward O' Brien
LMU Posted April 15, 2005 Posted April 15, 2005 Yeah the Rose Parade and Rose Bowl are always moved to the 2nd if the 1st is on a Sunday, regardless of the NFL schedule.
NJTank Posted April 15, 2005 Posted April 15, 2005 Totally we need a playoff now Im begining to even lose intrest in College Football. www.sportsecyclopedia.com For the best in sports history go to the Sports E-Cyclopedia at http://www.sportsecyclopedia.com
dfwabel Posted April 15, 2005 Posted April 15, 2005 Yeah the Rose Parade and Rose Bowl are always moved to the 2nd if the 1st is on a Sunday, regardless of the NFL schedule. The Rose Bowl is the BCS championship game and will be played on Jan. 4.
Thad Posted April 15, 2005 Posted April 15, 2005 Man, let's just tear down every tradition that is the NCAA. New Years Day is college football. It just won't be a new year without the Outback, Fiesta, and Orange Bowls. What tradition is next? I guess we'll see Penn St. in Bronco stripes soon Life is 10% what happens to you and 90% about how you react to it.App State Mountaineers / Alabama Crimson Tide / Atlanta Braves / New York Jets / Atlanta Hawks "If you believe in yourself and have dedication and pride - and never quit, you'll be a winner. The price of victory is high but so are the rewards." [Bear Bryant]Redmond Rampage
yh Posted April 15, 2005 Posted April 15, 2005 I don't see what this sudden outrage is about. This happens every 5-6 years, whenever New Years falls on a Sunday. Okay, maybe the younger folks here have an excuse, but still, this isn't nearly the first time this has happened.Nonetheless, it's just warming my heart to no end to see college football discussed in April. Spring ball is kicking off, my season ticket order is in the mail and August is not so far away!
