good thing there is no hockey stick in his mouth

I'm surprised they didn't make the snake's tongue a hockey stick.

actually this is good, that of course coming from the Dixons, which is weird

Not a fan of the purple fade-to-black gradient. Or the shadow effect.

I was expecting a stupid-looking logo, since the Dixons still own the team. However, this one isn't that bad. :hockeysmiley:

I've seen worse...but seeing it's the Dixons that are running the show in Roanoke, this is as quality as they can get

The color scheme reminds me of the old New Haven Knights, which isn't a bad thing :D

Not quite to your Moose standards, huh Sterling? I thought you would use this opp to show your Moose rink, jersey and possibly shot glasses.

OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOUCH!

SAVAGECOBRA comes out swinging. That's a doozy of a first post.

Welcome aboard?

Care to explain what your problem is? Is this Cobra your work or something?

Cause if you are sick of seeing updates regarding the Manitoba Moose, then I advise you don't click on threads with the words "Manitoba Moose" in the title ok?

I'm so sorry to bore you with every stale detail. But that project belongs to this community, not just me; and it is a precursor of things to come in terms of future successes directly attributable to this forum.

Now lets get back to talking about this gradient happy, motorcycle helmet-quality artwork shall we?

You want to target me? Don't bury your insults in somebody else's thread.

Actually, that logo that Brent put up doesn't look like it's the official one....

Got this off of the UHL boards courtesy of a Roanoke fan....and I have to say this is MUCH MUCH Better than what the original at the top looks like, IMO...

Actual Roanoke Valley Vipers Logo

Also, they had a jersey concept up as well...

Roanoke Valley Vipers Proposed Jerseys

Now, if they go with these, this would be pretty slick, IMO

you know, looking at the first link, the logos didnt really look like a flynnagain work to me, but then i saw the copyright on the second link, and it does have some similarities. nice work flynn. i like it, except for the font. just kinda rubs me wrong. overall it is a nice logo. secondary is very cool.

I DO NOT LIKE IT because of the snake. I have a friend who is so afraid of snakes that we have to censor magazines and TV ads. She is/or was a hockey fan. I do not understand why someting related to the Roanoke Valley wasn't chosen for the name and logo.

Odd...

And yes I agree, that Moose logo is representative of the community -- we were all a part of the 'contest' and watched the development process from day one.

Heck, I remember when that moose logo was blue, red and silver.

I've seen a lot of failed attempts at Vipers or Cobras, etc.,which tells me it may not be that easy of an assignment. Flynn really put out a unique design. I like it a lot. Real tight. Not as crazy for the V and head, as it looks like it could be an evil fish perhaps, but that doesn't take away from a solid primary logo.
