boardname
I really like the new ones, except the red/pewter combination. The pewter pants look fine with the white jerseys, but I like the red jerseys/white pants a LOT better than red jerseys/pewter pants.

hormone
Since this broke out into a Bucs conversation, why did they decide not to wear the white pants with new unis? I liked them for one game with each jersey. Also, on the oldies, they used to have orange numbers with red outline on the white jersey, why did they switch to red numbers with orange outline? Is it for legibility reasons?
rmackman
Here's a good photo of those jerseys "Every morning in Africa, a gazelle wakes up. It knows it must run faster than the fastest lion or it will be eaten. Every morning in Africa, a lion wakes up. It knows it must outrun the slowest gazelle or it will starve. It doesn't matter whether you're a lion or a gazelle. When the sun comes up, you'd better be running." - Unknown | Check out my articles on jerseys at Bacon Sports
amare32
I, too, loved Bucco Bruce. From the moment I saw him on the field, I knew my heart was his. With his jaunty, feathered cap and wind-blown hair, his handlebar mustache and man-earring...I longed for him to sack me. He winked at me and I knew he was after my booty. But he was just a pirate, a scoundrel, a player. He played me...and who knows how many other Tampa fans? He promised me he would love me forever. And then, suddenly and without a word, he was gone. Why, Bucco Bruce? Why have you abandoned me?
Magus
i personally hated the old uniforms but i did like the old logo. i like what they have now better. Stampman
I wasn't a big fan of the old logo but the unis were okay--although their current ones are better.I think I was subconsciously influenced by them when I created this Madden team for New Brunswick (using provincial flag colours to a degree)--although I know they're not exact matches...I didn't realize any resemblance until I played a game agisnt them in a road uni... Cujo
Buccaneer Bruce and those hideous uniforms can best be represented by these fans:I remember when us Jet fans used wear those.
brinkeguthrie
One of my favorite all-time sports quotes, c/o the Buc's coach John McKay:Reporter: "Coach, what do you think of your team's execution?"McKay: "I'm in favor of it."Did Bucco Bruce remind you of one of the Village People? The Bucs wore Orange numbers with Red trim in their expansion year (their one season in the AFC), and then switched to Red numbers with Orange trim the next season.I distinctly remember the TV announcers complaining about trying to read their numbers from the press box. "Start spreading the news... They're leavin' today... Won't get to be a part of it... dfwabel
I think that the fact that they rarely wore the Florida Orange tops was an issue to me. They used the "heat factor" meaning that the opponent would use more energy by wearing their darks plus as I remember Tampa (Houlihan's) stadium, they were on the west side. In reality, as a kid in Tampa then it did not work often. After McKay retired, they usually wore orange with playing at Dallas, at Washington, and when they thought it was special. From friends in the Tampa sports medai, don't look for them to wear throwbacks unless mandated to; the Glazer family changed colors not to be associated with the Culverhouse/old Buccaneer era and really never want to wear them again. VandyDelphia Mike
The Buccaneers were right to change. They were losers in the creamsicle outfits. The new owners wanted a new image for the team. So the current scheme doesn't scream Florida. Oh well. It also doesn't scream tacky-70's kitchen, either.I didn't like the old Bucs colors before I knew that they shared similatrities with the University of Tennessee. That association just makes me want to throw up just a little bit more. NCAA Baseball Champions | 2014, 2019 facebook
