Discrim
welcome to the club, the Cubs have pretty much teh same drawing power. heck, they draw well in spring training. teams with fairweather fans luuuuv the Cubs, Bosox and Yanks, especially when their own teams are in losing funks. I figure you know like I know...a team like the D-backs is mostly gonna draw diehards for a series against the Rockies. However, when the Cubs are in town the park's near packed, and I don't think the owners mind that much that it's more Cubbie blue than D-back purple in there. Cujo
I've actually been a Cub fan at Bank One Ballpark (this was in 1999), and I gotta say it was nice to be one of many in blue. I'd say it was 30% for Chicago (and Sammy) at the game. I didn't know the Cubbies had that kind of a following before actually going to one of their road games. Breakwood
It's the same when the Sox and Yanks come to Toronto. over 50% of the crowd is cheering for the visiting club, it makes me sick.
BaltimoreFan
Yeah you're not going to get many fans after 7 straight losing seasons. Especially on a week night. But I'm not worried, the team is turning around. I bet within the next two seasons the park looks like it did in '97.

Alot of their Arizona following is a direct result of spring training. That's not saying they don't travel well. You'll find plenty of cubs fan at an afternoon game at Busch.Which leads me to this conculsion.Cubs fans are unemployeed
Mac6674
The O's have worn out the grace period of having a new park, now the fans want a winner. If they keep playing at this level into June, I think the attendance will spike up. April's a tough month to sell anyway; it's still cold a lot of the time, the kids are still in school, and no one knows if the team's for real yet. I went a couple weeks ago to the Yankees/O's game in the Bronx. It's fun being the only guy in an Orioles jersey. Especially when they win.
