Discrim Posted April 28, 2005 Posted April 28, 2005 as I figure you see, the Canadas name refers to the type of goose, which despite its name is pretty common around these parts. I couldn't really think of any other color that made sense for the primary, so red it was. cream and black are the other uniform colors, and shades of gray are used only in the goose logo. GeorgesL Posted April 28, 2005 Posted April 28, 2005 It would be cool if Milwaukee were a Canadian city. But unfortunately it's not.Not bad, nonetheless.
PackerBadger Posted April 28, 2005 Posted April 28, 2005 So would this team sign former UW running back Larry Canada for some function?
MC Buffalo Posted April 28, 2005 Posted April 28, 2005 Milwaukee Canadas just doesn't roll off the tongue. What if you just went with Milwaukee Ganders. Gander of course being the name for a male Goose.
-kj Posted April 28, 2005 Posted April 28, 2005 Y'know, 'Scrim, besides being insane, your concepts always look so... puffy is the way I'd describe it. You seem to like really big inner outlines, and rounded edges. I think some of that takes away from your work, making it look too billowy and fluffy. Maybe try some sharper edges and smaller outlines, especially on your jersey detailing or wordmarks...? Buy some t-shirts and stuff at KJ Shop! I'm guessing that's because Photoshop doesn't lend itself to mitered strokes....and now I get to go sit down in the Graphic Design geeks' corner.
Discrim Posted April 28, 2005 Author Posted April 28, 2005 I must be better than I thought I was...cus I don't have Photoshop my program, however, doesn't lend itself very well to sharp edges...when I try that, it looks like somebody broke off the points. aside from that, I reasoned that there's numerous teams that use names like Irish, Dutch, Scots and such...that, and Ganders woulda been way too obvious (underused, but obvious). cus shoot, they aint called America Geese or Mexico Geese A strong mind gets high off success, a weak mind gets high off bull
pcgd Posted April 28, 2005 Posted April 28, 2005 How bout the Southeast Wisconsin Japanese Beetles. Annoying pests. As are those damn Canadian Geese. Both animals have invested my alma mater in Kenosha.
Discrim Posted April 28, 2005 Author Posted April 28, 2005 funny you mention them buggers, there's a dead beetle on my ceiling that i never got around to scraping off A strong mind gets high off success, a weak mind gets high off bull
DrBear Posted April 28, 2005 Posted April 28, 2005 1. As a name, Milwaukee Canadas ranks right up there with what would have happened if Lamar Hunt had got his way and kept his team's name: the Kansas City Texans.2. Milw.'s a lake city, not a dirt city. Those are dirt uniforms, looking like a muddy day. Great for Cleveland, not necessarily for Milwaukee.3. Maybe the Milwaukee Honkers? Or maybe the Milwaukee Imported Canadian Drugs?
