Avenger
I don't think the Rockies identity is a lost cause, but the current uniforms are a mish-mosh of some silly stuff. Here's what I would do if I was in charge. There's definitely some similarities to their inaugural uniforms, but I don't think that's a bad thing. I thought the had a good look going. I think if anything, they need to stick to the purple pinstripes. They were the first team that I can remember doing that, and I think it's neat. What do you guys think? Mings
I agree with you on these looking like the inaugurals, but thats what the Rockies need, as they rocked. I like the use of the mountain as the cap logo, looks really good. Can't really find anything negative about it.
jWilson4mvp
They need to drop the purle and black all together. I think they'd look good in blues and greens. Rah rah rah.

DAJackson7
I like it, if there is one thing i hate its the pinstripes on the Rockies roads. And boy oh boy do those alternates of theirs suck, like burning. I like my women like i like my coffee, tied up in a burlap sack and thrown over the back of a donkey. I kinda like purple and black for the Rockies... It's a touch dark I guess, but the purple mountain is pretty logical to me, and the whole scheme is unique to MLB while being tasteful. It's not enough to get me to root for the team (I've always been a Red Sox fan), but I'd be happy to see the Rockies stick with the scheme for their existance. Like the Devil Rays?Ever heard of "purple mountain majesties"? That's why purple works with the team name. ColeJ
i was hoping to see some new logos, wordmarks, etc... that's the weakest part of the rockies identity, in my opinion... they just look so "blah" to me. too thin.but what you've done using their current package is a great upgrade. KennyRock
I know this is nit-picking, but the "CR" on the hats should probably be bigger. I like the home pinstripes, the road grey, and the purple alt. I don't think they need more than that. I love alternate jerseys, but their BP is already black, and to me, they'd be better without a black alt. The purple alt is unique, no one else in MLB has one. But black? One team in their division, and three others in their league have black alts. I'd just have the three. Gordie
Now that Cole has mentioned it, I'd also like to see what you would do to improve the logos.

Gordie
I don't know whether it's an official logo, or you extracted it from the sleeve logo, but I don't like the mountain/baseball mark you used on a couple of the caps. The other part of the equation is that I think you can come up with something better. . . . something with a quality that's easier for the casual fan to embrace. While a purple mountain can be majestic and representative of success, it's also cold and uninviting, especially when combined with black. Do the Rockies have a mascot, something with personality, a character that's embodies the strength of the mountains without being dull and cold as a rock? As for a mascot, they use a goofy-ass dinosaur named Dinger. They found some stegosaurus fossils when they began construction of Coors Field, hence the concept.I guess the thing I like about the Rockies identity is the kinda classic vibe to it. It fits real well with the ballpark, which definitely harkens back to olde time baseball with the architechure.

Gordie
Okay, forget about the dinosaur. You're right it's a nice, classic look, but it seems boring to me. Sure it's tasteful, but is it appealing? I think a logo along the lines of Chicago's bearcub, Milwaukee's barrel man, or San Diego's friar wouldn't hurt their look, and it would give them some personality. Avenger
The only other imagery that I can think of adding would be a columbine flower. It's a state symbol, and there are bricks with sculpted columbine flowers on them all over the stadium.Maybe I'll try to mock something up with that in mind. Gordie
Well, at least there's some life in the flower. This may be a little cliched, but going along with the "purple mountains' majesty" theme, how about something patriotic like an eagle backed by mountains? (I'm assuming there are eagles in Colorado) If you use the flower as well, it can be a statement of civic, state, and national pride. Anyways, I didn't mean to suggest that you had to assume the responsibility of developing a new identity for the Rockies, Keith. Your uniform concept is good, as usual it's hard to find something to criticize.

VitaminD
Huh... am I the only one who likes their current marks? No. I've liked the Rockies' colors since they came up with them. Too many teams are falling into the red/white/blue trap anymore.Anyone who wants to see the Rockies dump their colors fails to grasp the significance behind "purple mountains' majesty". If done properly, purple can look very classy - just ask the Lakers and Vikings.Nice work on restoring a little order into the mess the Rockies have made of their uniforms. Dumping the road pinstripes helps a lot - their lettering becomes very difficult to read on a striped background. "Start spreading the news... They're leavin' today... Won't get to be a part of it... In old New York..."In order for the Mets' run of 12 losses in 17 games to mean something, the Phillies still had to win 13 of 17.
