New CFL Uniforms

Hey guys. Just thought I would share something I've been working on. Credit to Craig Wheeler for his football template. I've expanded on his work to include the CFL, Arena Football, USFL, XFL and WLAF. Anyway, here are some of the new CFL uniforms:

looks good man. For some reason I thought Saskatchewans shoulder stripe was white, not grey. Now i know what these jeresys all look like for sure.

Yeah, I think you are right on the Roughriders - the stripes are white. Some of the teams were hard to see in the photos.

Anyways, now it's time for me to critique the uniforms... And since the end of school and finals are coming up, I'm going to use letter grades

Ottawa: C-

Calgary: F-, OMG THOSE SUCK

Saskatchewan: B+

Ti-Cats: B+

Edmonton: B

Toronto: A

Winnepeg: C+ (It would be a B+ if they didn't rip off the Rams).

Yeah, I realize I don't post very often. I just had child #5 so I'm a little busy these days. Besides, my buddy Pantone keeps me up to date on what's going on in the logo world.

Here is the BC Lions, along with a few alternates (I'm not sure if these are the final products, but I got them from the uniform photos from a few months back). I'll be working on Montreal in the next few days.

Great work. Your posts give us a more realistic feel as to how the uniforms will look on a player than those lame-ass renditions on the CFL site.

Critiqing the whole league package- everybody looks the same! I mean, did the Reebok designers decide on one template and "fill in the colors?" Five of nine teams with UCLA-type inserts. Are you kidding us? What happened to "originality?"

Guess that's what happens when you sell your soul to Reebok.

In additon to the horrible bib on the Stamps jersey (which might look okay if the sleeves were red too) the numbers on the roads should be red & the Gades' road numbers should be black--they got those backwards-and a basic CFL history course would have told them that!

The RoughRider unis should be considered by the New York Jets as their new Uniforms. Are you listening, Cowboy Kevin????

the more I look at the Stamps' roads, the less I hate em. conversely, the more I look at em the more I despise the Green Riders' roadies...IIRC of the helmet, jersey and pants, at least two of em should usually be the same color, although some teams can work around that (TB Storm, UAB, Michigan). The Riders are not one of those teams. One part can make or break a uniform, and this fits in the latter.

combining that with the blandness of my Argos...oy. if it aint broke, don't fix it.

The BC Lions are making it hard for me to like them.

I don't like their logo (Laughing Lion), I don't like Orange.

Especially Orange pants.

The baby's bib (feeder?) thing around the neck just looks out of place.

Apart from being the team in Vancouver, they have no redeeming qualities.

Even their 50 year old kicker has retired.

When I buy this team, I'm coming here for a new logo, then running a comp for new unis with different colours.

Argos need to put the white-light blue-white stripes back on the helmet, like the old Rocket Ismail days. It would look great with the pants now.

You know I was looking again at the Stamps jerseys and thought that "bib" reminded me of something. Turns out it was the Pittsburgh Steelers in the '60s. I couldn't stand those Steeler shirts but the Stamps are at least passable.
