I'm thinking the same thing. The outlines only follow the paths that are there. If you want to make a path less jagged, you need to remove some anchor points and adjust the bezier curves.

Thanks everyone. I did do that, but it was still a mess.

See how the blue is just...gross? :)

Thanks.

It's not that bad. You just need to smooth the flat spots out of the curves.

Can anyone answer my question?

A quick Google search of "illustrator mesh jersey swatch" would have saved you however many days you waited for this answer.

It was in the second result of the search.

But for the top and bottom wavy outlines (excluding the R part), I'm assuming still has too many anchor points. A curved line like that should most likely have 3 anchor points, 2 at either end and 1 in the middle. Then just alter the bezier curves as appropriate.

honestly dude, just draw the blue shape by hand. trace over the one you have with some well-placed anchor points and good use of the curve handles. 5 minute job tops. none of this 6 hour b.s.

don't use a stroke. go to OBJECT > PATH > OFFSET PATH. it looks like a stroke, but it's not limited to be a single width all the way around, and you can add as many outlines as you like in this fashion with ease.

Quick (I hope) question... I just started using the 3D Extrude and Bevel filter. After applying the filter, when you click on the object, the path still shows up around the pre-filtered object, and therefore doesn't match up with the post-filtered object. Is there any way to change it so the path matches the post-filtered object?

Does any know where I can go to find Illustrator cheap? The disc that I dug up a little while back was no good and the program wouldn't load.

Or is anyone willing to sell and old version of Illustrator they don't need anymore?

I just fool around with making logos and stuff in my spare time so I'm not really looking to make the investment required to get the newest version.

If anyone is interested you can PM me or e-mail me at: undergrounddyer@yahoo.com

Thanks.
