World Cup qualifying thread

He he he... I live in Argentina and when the national team beat Brazil, there was joy!

It's like a Red Sox - Yankee rivalry, perhaps more bitter and passional than the baseball stuff...

As result, today here is a graphic joke against the Brazilians...

brasilargentino5yc.gif

It emules the Argentinian colors in the Brazil's flag... inside the usual Brazilian motto in Portuguese "Ordem e Progresso" was reemplazed with a sentence in Castilian "Argentina nos bailó" (Argentina made us dance). XD

Even though I'm a big Brazilian fan (I've got a bunch of relatives there) I must admit that's a great flag. :notworthy:

I saw, I came, I left.

i think Australia if we get to the World Cup have a real chance to move out of the group stage..... if we draw some of these other smaller countries liek Congo etc......the hard part is getting there cos it is so unfair

June 18th Matchday Preview:

(9 games in Africa)

Can qualify: None

Big games:

Senegal vs. Togo- Battle of the top of Group 1. A Togo win all but eliminates Senegal and gives Togo at least a 3 point lead with 2 games left. A Senegal gives them a one point lead.

Kenya vs. Morocco-Morocco can distance themselves somewhat with a win. A Kenya win cramps everything at the top, and they also have a game in hand.

Nigeria vs. Angola- Tied at the top of Group 3. A win by either puts them 3 points clear with 2 left. A draw and potential Zimbabwe win puts 3 teams within a point of eachother.

South Africa vs. Ghana- A South African win puts them at least 3 points up over the group, puts Ghana at the brink of elimination, and puts South Africa on the brink of qualification. A Ghana win ties them with South Africa at the top.

France moves in to second place. Zidane's return sparked them to a 3-0 win over the Faroe Islands, which easily could've been 7-0 if it weren't for the heroic efforts of the Faroese keeper. Big match on Wednesday, Ireland-France in Dublin, should be an electric atmosphere.

P.S Canada did well in a friendly in Spain today, Spain 2-1 Canada FT

Nice to see the US qualify. Even though a player did threaten to kill Landon Donavan's mother last year ill still support the Red, The White,..................................(looks over shoulder) AND THE GREEN!!!!
