In order for the Mets' run of 12 losses in 17 games to mean something, the Phillies still had to win 13 of 17.

woohooo Schwarzer you are fluffing legend!!!!!!!!!! woohoo!

after 32 years of heartbreak, finally we are IN!

and what makes it sweeter? Recoba's comments before the game saying that Uraguay has a right to be in the WC because they are Uraguay. And Coach Fossati saying we have no one who can change a game, and they both came out and said we are worse than 2001

Well to you guys, fluff off, we won, you suck....hahaha knobheads

Now we are off to Germany!

Centrebet has us at 50-1 to win!

All I know about the draw is that they seed the top 8 teams and then group the rest by continent. Those top 8 right now are: Brazil, Spain, Germany, Mexico, Italy, Argentina, England, and France.

From then, they'd group the Netherlands, Sweden, Croatia, Czech Republic, Portugal, Poland, Serbia and Montenegro, Switzerland, and Ukraine (giving two to ARG, MEX, or BRA)...

United States, Costa Rica, Trinidad and Tobago, South Korea, Japan, Iran, and Saudi Arabia...

Paraguay, Ecuador, Tunisia, Ivory Coast, Ghana, Togo, Angola, and Australia.

They could also conceivably give the Dutch a seed to make the one pot 8 European teams.

Now if it were me, I'd seed them 1 to 32 and break the pots that way, so..

Pot A: BRA, ESP, GER, MEX, ITA, ARG, ENG, FRA

Pot B: NED, USA, SWE, KOR, CRO, JPN, CZE, PAR

Pot C: POR, KSA, CRC, POL, IRN, TUN, SCG, ECU

Pot D: SUI, UKR, CIV, TRI, AUS, GHA, TOG, ANG

The top 8 certainly are rarely decided straight from the FIFA rankings, previous performances in major championships are taken into account, and basically FIFA sit down and work out how best to avoid making any sense to anyone.

I would be very very very surprised if Mexico are a top seed for instance. Portugal will be higher than pot C I would imagine.
