"They believe what they want to believe. In my heart, I know I'm doing the right thing. I don't have to play football. I don't have to play for the Eagles. I don't care what my teammates say. I would play for anybody. I'll play for anybody who allows me to go out there and do what I do. I just want to be paid what I deserve. If I'm one of the top players in the game, pay me like I'm one of the top players. What's fair is fair. That's not being selfish. That's not being greedy. Right is right and wrong is wrong."

guess who made this statement?

(scroll down)

(little more, it's worth it.)

Terrell Owens! Can you believe this MORON? I live in SF and boy are we glad he is gone.

Wonder why he signed a SEVEN year deal?

If I were the Eagles I would let him rot in hell. But, he'll end up like McKenzie last year in GB. Even though he came back from his holdout, it never ended even though he was playing(like crap) and he was collecting a check for nothing.

Damned right. If I were Loria, I'd let him hold out - for the entire length of his deal. They wouldn't have to pay him in a holdout situation, right?

See how much he's worth 6 years from now when his contract expires and he hasn't played a down.

That's Jeffrey Lurie not Jeffrey Loria. I'm sure the Marlins wouldn't want to pay a holdout either ^_^

-Terrell "Assclown" Owens

................

What a prick. And what I hate more than a greedy prick, is a greedy prick who tries to justify being one. All the talent and stats in the world does not excuse selfish behavior. He's not just a cancer to the Eagles, he's a cancer to football altogether. He's a grand master showboat, a poor sportsman, an arrogant, obnoxious, trash talker, and now he's most obviously not a team player.

:cursing:

I know many football fans out there like his antics, but I think there's a difference between passoinate about the game and just being a twit. You can appreciate his abillities and still think he's wrong. He's a talented athlete, but he makes it so very hard to like and identify with him. I still do not understand why the Eagles signed him to begin with. Not because of his talent, but because I don't think his personality fits with philosophy of the team and coaches. It is clear he wants to be alpha wolf (or at least reap the rewards of being one) and he wants everything on his terms only. Why would any team serious about winning want someone with that kind of atittude on their roster?

He signed a contract just last year, and already he's pulling this garbage off.

Personally, I beleive he injured himself worse than he let on. For all his Super Bowl "heroics" of playing against everyones' orders, I'd be willing to be he feels he cannot last seven years so he wants all the money he signed to, but over a shorter period of time. That way even if he does play poorly and eventually gets cut or waived, he'll have more to show for it. If in fact he's in tip-top shape, someone needs to bring him back to reality.

If the Eagles don't have to pay him if he's holding out, then I say let him sit there indefinately. He might be a talented receiver, but he's not Christ on the Mount, and certaintly he's going to be replaced by future players in a matter of a few years anyway. That's just the nature of sports. Nobody is irreplaceable- nobody. He does what he does because he has an audience for it be it positive or negative. Contrary to what his quote says, I think in fact he DOES have to play football, it is we the fans that do not have to watch or listen to him. I'd really like for him to spout off again only to have it met with mass disinterest. And THAT is what he deserves to be paid.

Ya know,as much as i dont like the guy,he does have a point. He doesnt HAVE to play for the Eagles, and he doesnt have to care what his teammates think, but is it really worthwhile to alienate teammates that got a sniff away from the Lombardi Trophy, and from what i read a fairly hot pick to get another shot at it this year?

Ah well I hope he rots on the sidelines for the rest of his life, plus i wont have to play him twice a year in the MLF :hockeysmiley:

Even tho our team was the worst in the league last year, (the Niners) I can't tell you how much better off we are without that punk.

Cancer? You BETCHA.

I will however suggest there ARE a few players that are irreplacable for their teams. Mostly QBs.

If the Colts lose Peyton..the Pack loses Favre..season is OVER.

Colts and Packers fans would not argue this point.

T.O. signed the deal AFTER being told by Gene Upshaw and the Player's union that it was a bad deal. Tough p!op buddy your bed you lie in it.

Well, Lurie and Joe Banner have gone on record as saying that as far as they are concerned there is not situation because he has a contract and they do not renegotiate for anybody. They manage the cap as well if not better than any team in the league, and that cap management has been responsible for 4 straight NFC Title game appearances, one superbowl, and even more years of contending football. They're not going to give that up for any one person.

As for why they signed him: He basically kissed McNabb's a$$ at the pro-bowl the last few years and lobbied him to convince Andy Reid that he met the character standards that they set. He pulled the wool over everyone's eyes, and really for nothing. If the Eagles cut him tomorrow he will not make more money this year than he would just playing under his current deal. He is a complete moran.

It would be hilariously funny if Owens ended up having to play in the AFL, or better yet, NFL Europe.

That would be perfection.

...................

OMG you're right! I wonder if he could sue Bud for "intellectual property"?

I have to find me some of those ads online and download them. Budweiser's website has ads, but none of the Leon ones.

I think it would be funnier if he suffered a career ending injury shooting another "Right Guard: Red Rover" television ads.

Wouldn't it be GREAT if Owens decided to get himself traded to the Raiders? Owens and Moss on one team! THink about it!

No, wait.

We LIVE in the Bay Area.

Forget I said that.
