HappyBrownie13
SportsCenter's getting there quick, with all it's bells-and-whistles, hip hop, holla at a playa if you see him in the street attempts at being hip and modern. It takes away from the sports coverage drasticallyand does anyone remember when Stuart Scott wasnt just the token, Hollywood black guy?? when you're replacing an old Carr, you need more than Les Miles

I believe he joined the staff at the same time as Stu. Since George Solomon has become ESPN's ombudsman, I fully expect to see a major shakeup at the SportsCenter desk. And to those who want to taunt poker, I dare you to get the first season of "Tilt" on DVD. Great show. The CCSLC's resident Geelong Cats fan. Viva La Vida or Death And All His Friends. Sounds like something from a Rocky & Bullwinkle story arc. HedleyLamarr
I can't be the only person here to watch Cheap Seats can I?Its this show staring 2 twins (Randy and Jason, yes they are identical but they have different facial hair so its hard to tell, they also are the conjoined twins in "The Oblongs" Cartoon, and I think they were in an MTV show, perhaps it was Apartment 2F...ANYWAY) These guys watch old shows that were shown on ABC wide world of sports or the early days of ESPN and just make fun of them. I think its hilarious. Some things they've covered:A regional Dog ShowIce SailingBaton TwirlingSuperstars/SuperdogsCheerleadingSpelling Bees (the one where the kid faints...classic)Roller DerbyRegional WrestlingSuperteams (I guess this was a show where they staged two teams from different sports against one another in cooky competitions)Cliff DivingCreative Breaking Competition (Karate)Frog Jumping and a Cat ShowSteve Garvey's Celebirty Billfish Tournament (yes, I'm serious) Bobby Bonilla's bowling Tournament (again, I'm serious)Horse Racing on Ice, Antique Car Racing, Women's Demolition Derby (This was one episode)Cyclo Ball (think soccer, basketball and cycling mixed)Lawnmower RacingPutt-PuttIts on ESPN Classic. Seriously check it out if you haven't. It's like "Mystery Science Theater 3000" meets "Wide World of Sports". I love the show!

The two of them used to just sit on a couch and bust on the footage like you would at your house with your friends, now they have a studio audience they stand their and sort of do this dual monologue routine through the whole thing. It just doesn't work as good, still funny but not as funny as before.

EamusCatuli016097
yes, cheap seats is great. i have the one of the Cal-Stanford game from '82 (the one with the band!) i also saw the putt-putt one as well. i never laughed so hard at a t.v. show before i watched those two episodes of cheap seats. and i have to agree with one of the earlier posts. the worst thing shown on a sports channel is without a doubt, the NBA and anything even remotely related to the NBA. jump roping is a distant second on this one, i saw it last week. SEMOSTLfan
probably the worst thing ive seen on a sports channel is this damn poker fad. the last straw with that was when the speed channel had jeff gordon, darryl waltrip, rusty wallace and other playing poker. Chances are if im watching speed channel i want to see these men driving race cars not playing card games. Oh yeah and the NBA is way up there.....really they should just quit. The league is a joke....just give BET the television rights and free up air time for real sports on the other networks.
