I also appreciate the ode to the old days when they wore the blue caps with red bills (never been a huge fan of their red logo on red hat look). And if you know me, you'll never hear me complain about a concept that features home whites and road grays (the way baseball was meant to be played).The red alt looks great. The contrast between the blue and red really makes it stand out.This set is a classic look, one that very well could be timeless. There is something to be said about simplicity. I'm not particularly digging the hats though, I'm just not a fan of the red brim...but then again, I never liked the two-tone hats in general. Oh yeah...just wondering, why Jeff DaVanon? VitaminD Posted June 19, 2005 Share Posted June 19, 2005 The hat is an upgrade, both for getting rid of the red overkill and for the wings logo.And I like the navy alt better - it only vaguely looks the Twins with the colors and the piping. But the Twins' font is markedly different. The letters don't arch on the home alt. They have white numbers on the fronts of the alts. And they use a lot more white in their alts, especially the road one - white lettering, white numbers, white names on the back. Given that so many teams where red/blue or red/navy, you can't avoid a little overlap. But even sharing colors, these look like what the Angels would wear. If they had never gone to those Disneyfied uniforms ( !!), the set that preceded those were just fine. "Start spreading the news... They're leavin' today... Won't get to be a part of it... cyandlux Posted June 20, 2005 Share Posted June 20, 2005 I dont know what to say but if theyre going to change the logo I just think that they would want something that would incorporate the name of the new city they didnt move to. You should use LA Angels of Lameness and incorporate the LA in the logo and the word mark of Los Angeles for a jersey. I mean, if they are going to change thats what they are going to change to.
