ok... well what, (specifically) does it need to make it "MLB quality" ?

Less egregious clip art?

besides the businessman, what about this is clip art?

Christos, I think you have greatly improved your designs for this. While it was not the direction I would have gone in, this version of the DC is very nice. Not necessarily good for a team name such as Nationals or Senators, but definitely good for a more modern nickname.

I would like to see instead of a color acting as a drop shadow, have it as an outline of the whole logo.

further evolved... nearly finished

AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH MAKE IT STOP ALREADY!!!!! "Nearly finished?" What about the three dozen other "finished" versions you have ALREADY done? You still have EIGHT different fonts on this one design sheet. THAT ALONE makes it horribly unprofessional and not worth taking seriously.

Uh, everything?

The baseball, the dome, the stitching, the lettering...all looks like it came from some $4.99 clip art package from the discount bin of my local computer store.

Christos should understand that nothing about this package is professional in its design or presentation, despite his claims otherwise. When you can barely read the lettering of a logo because of the "designer's" (and I'm using heavy quotes here) obsession with making them look funky and trendy, you know there is a problem. A successful design is meant to convey a particular message and image - frankly, I don't think that Christos even knows what language he wants his design to speak in, much less what message is being conveyed.

That's the first step, if you want some constructive criticism, C. Figure out what exactly what you want your design to say. Then buy a professional design program like PhotoShop and ditch the clip art CD.

Really, it'll be okay.

I kinda like this update, but then i dont.

The outline needs to be thicker, and more uniform as well (outside only). I like the outline on the curved part of the c and d but it takes away from meshing it in with the baseball.

I would also do the same treatment on the c that you did on the d (i.e. the flourish off of the d and put it on the bottom right of the c as well and have the uprights on c match how it is on the d).

That should also put some movement into the logo.

I also like the highlights, just make them thicker.

On the hats, on blue, make the logo mostly red. That way it would look better. same thing on the Red hat, only make it mostly blue.

Overall, keep it up. The font for washington still bugs me, find a way to make it mesh with the Capitol building more, maybe go custom along the lines of the DC.

The only thing bugging me about this whole package is that I don't see it leading to anything. I could understand when you were trying to make a design proposal for the Nationals, but now it just seems strange that so much effort is being put into some generic logo for a nameless, unaffiliated franchise. It is looking a lot better than before, but I just don't see what kind of pay-off all this effort will make.

1) a new owner for the Nationals will be chosen by MLB within a month or so... and it's a good bet that they'll consider new / alternate logos... for game use or just merchandising...

2) More realistically / practically thinking ) since I live close to DC... regardless of whether the Nationals / MLB are interested in my logos, they're not limited to baseball (except for the dome wordmark) they're WASHINGTON LOGOS

3) The essential thing here is that it's HONESTLY NOT about money for me. I'm just extremely passionate (obsessed) about logo creation... and although I greatly struggle at times and have never considered myself a "professional" graphic artist, it's simply a matter of being DRIVEN to FINISH what I start ~and to somehow get it RIGHT... especially in this case. as the first Washington baseball design I proposed, and received publicity from(W/Baseball/Capital dome/) was a cool CONCEPT (for a t-shirt) , yet too busy to be a solid CAP design... and btw, despite some people's intense loathing of the swinging senator (a licensed / highly modified clipart) it's a genuinely dynamic depiction... and has a (mostly youth) demographic that could care less where the logo was derived from...

anyyyyway, this one's getting much closer now... definitely needed thicker outline~ thanks Joshua. though I'm still undecided on the stylizing of the C ... so I'd appreciate anyone commenting to choose which one works better and why? (and I know, they need cleaning up a bit more as well) also still working on the Washington font...

after going back and forth... I finally realized both the baseball and the lettering had been lost in transformation...

anyway, the design has reached a "happy medium". just needs to be touched up a bit...

If you ask me, you can dress up a bad idea and call it Erwin, but it's still going to be a bad concept. It hits a ceiling.

This concept may have potential, but the different directions you have taken it have not realized that potential. Time to come up with something fresh. The glue factory finished with this dead horse long ago.

Cap logos = keep developing, because I like where you're going

Wordmarks = start fresh, because you've hit the proverbial brick wall
