I like it a lot. Is there any way you could maybe morph the sails into the "LAC" wordmark they have? The outermost/top blue sail represents a C, and the back blue sail, with a bit of a touch-up, might be made into an L, and maybe the red in between can be some part of an A? It's hard to do, but it could look pretty sweet.

Not saying that it doesn't, though ... it's pretty sharp as is.

It looks like old spice deoderent meets basketball!!!

but none the less its cool

but what does the ship have to do with clippers

p.s. whats a clipper

*cracks open a history book...pays to have a college degree in this plop  *

A clipper is a type of sailing boat...big ones too...they were common back in the 19th Century for supply runs to California from the East Coast (no railroad going across the continent at the time and no Panama Canal either..meaning, they had to go the LONG way (as in around Cape Horn at the tip of South America and back up)..)...

The team took the name when they moved from Buffalo (where they started their NBA lives as the Braves) to San Diego in the late 70s (made sense in a way...SD's right on the Pacific and is a major port...besides, "San Diego Braves" just didn't fly I guess... ) and kept it when they moved to LA...

Hope that helped clear that up....

As for the logo....LOVE IT! THAT's what the ClipJoint should be using...

and to just add onto that...the ships got the name "Clippers" due to the fact that they seemed to just "clip" right along in the waters. many clippers broke travel and speed records in their golden era. then there were those whole steamship and railroad things that kinda killed them off

Oh yes...SWEET LOGO!!

I always thought this team would need a new logo but it wonderful of how you incorporated an antual clipper ship with part of the current logo. Excellent Job! Send this concept to the team (trademark it first).

College sports as we know them are just about dead. The lid is off on all the corruption that taints just about every major program and every decision that the schools or the NCAA make is only about money, money, and more money. We'll have three 16+ team super-conferences sooner rather than later, killing much of the regional flair and traditional rivalries that make college sports unique and showing the door to any school that doesn't bring money to the table in the process. Pretty soon the smaller schools are going to have to consider forming their own sanctioning body to keep the true spirit of college sports alive because the NCAA will only get worse in it's excess from here

If thats the case - Whats the quickest way for it not to? How does that work? PUMA spent 2 years redoing the ST L Rams identity.
