nah, the city wouldn't support a major league team. it could, if either the colts or pacers weren't here. the article is right, this city can only support two major league teams, forever associating the name naptown with indianapolis. besides, the indianapolis arrows? the name sucks.

I love indy, but its not a Major league city. Its perfect for AAA. I was at the game last night...it looked like a sell out. Could they draw at least double that for a Major League team? Doubtful.

They probably didnt know which league they would have joined. It depended which existing team they were trying to lure. If they were hoping for expansion, it probably would have been the NL since in the 80s the AL had more teams at the time.

If they had joined the NL, they would have been right smack in the middle of the Cards-Reds-Cubs rivalries which date back over a hundred years. That's something I wouldnt want to get in the middle of.
