Here's a challenge....old school baseball. ROBIN YOUNT wallpaper!

"Every morning in Africa, a gazelle wakes up. It knows it must run faster than the fastest lion or it will be eaten. Every morning in Africa, a lion wakes up. It knows it must outrun the slowest gazelle or it will starve. It doesn't matter whether you're a lion or a gazelle. When the sun comes up, you'd better be running." - Unknown | 🌐 Check out my articles on jerseys at Bacon Sports 🔗

Hey all,

I've been impressed with the wallpapers you guys have been throwing together in here, and wanted to try to make a few for myself with my favorite players.

Trouble is, I'm kind of new to Illustrator, so I'm trying to learn bits and pieces here and there to pick up on the program.

I wanted to ask you not about the program, but about where you find the pictures. Here's a few quick questions that I would appreciate someone could help me with:

1) How do you get the players pulled out of the action shots?

2) Where do you find good skyline pictures?

3) How do you create the glow?

That's all I want to know ... keep up the good work!

Hi,

I do mine with PS.

You have to cut them out with the polygon lasso tool...thats what I prefer.

Skyline pictures are on google or altavista image search....just type city name and night.

The glow you create with PS, look a few posts earlier, explained there!

Pictures...thats a the most difficult part. Look around or try sportsline or kinda that...

Those are the latest ones:

As requested by some ppl in a hockey community

Well I make mine using Photoshop.

I find the images on an AltaVista image search, both the city and players. City - I type in the city then skyline and find a night image. Player - I type in their name.

If the image needs to be larger, I use a program that actually does that and it's called Imagener.

I just erase all the way around the player in Photoshop.

That's pretty much it, with the effects and whatnot.

Here's a photo you could use

"Every morning in Africa, a gazelle wakes up. It knows it must run faster than the fastest lion or it will be eaten. Every morning in Africa, a lion wakes up. It knows it must outrun the slowest gazelle or it will starve. It doesn't matter whether you're a lion or a gazelle. Someone could also use these photos!

If you want changes, tell me! ;)

For all who are searching high quality baseball pics, I just found this page:

http://photostore.mlb.com/source/Home.aspx

Maybe someone didn't know yet...lots of nice pictures there...

That's pretty darn good! I don't really want changes. Actually this would be impossible but the idea popped into my head...what if you had the logo morphing from the ball and glove to the current logo? That'd be neat. I dunno, but I like it awesome job! How'd you find a skyline of Milwaukee? :notworthy::hockeysmiley:
