Jayworld
I'm a "newbie" to the board, but love it already! Add SMU to the list of teams changing uniforms for this year. My good friend is the equipment manager at SMU, and I've seen the uniforms. They are almost exact duplicates of what Kentucky wore last year. The Mustangs will wear (predominately):red jerseys, silver pants (home)white jerseys, white pants (road)Same helmets as last yearThe jerseys/pants have the "Atlanta Falcons" type striping down the sides, so that they are interchangeable (white with silver, red with white, etc.). Also, and this is a good change in my opinion, the white road jerseys are going back to the red numbers with navy outline.Being the SWC lover/supporter I am, I too am glad that Baylor is wearing the "retro" unis for one game. Love the striped socks, aka 1974-76...Thanks,Jayworldhttp://swchelmets.tripod.com/

Jayworld
Mmm... after viewing the pictures from the link, I LIKE the new All-Red Tech uniforms. First time they've worn all red at home since 1968, under Coach J.T. King. Tech had red road pants with black-white-black stripes that they also sometimes wore at home.More red, less black is always good for the RED Raiders.... Now if they will only bring back the red facemasks with the black helmets, then that would be perfect....I find it ironic how far that Tech has moved away from the black since Leach first came there and they wore ALL Black at home, with black socks, black shoes, etc. That was a bad look.At least the new red pants have a stripe (albeit the "Nikefied" stripe) that will match the home and away jerseys....I understand that many Tech fans like the red jerseys/black pants, which were first made popular under the Spike Dykes regime in the early 90s.... It depends on when you went to Tech or first became a fan....I go back to 1974, under the Jim Carlen era with the white helmets....Jayworld

nugent4president
I like these new Arkansas threads. They are simple and clean cut. Depending on what we see for pants, they remind me of Oklahoma and Indiana.

bri1275
Yeah, I thought FAU looked really sharp also. I liked the way they coordinated the stripes on the helmets, sleeves and pants. What a novel idea.

FiddySicks
Kentucky used two helmets in their transition to the blue glitter shell helmet they use exclusively now. And watching the Kentucky vs Louisville game on ESPN, i gotta say that those Kentucky Unis are sweet. I love the color of that helmet. perfesser
I haven't found a good picture, but I saw the Arkansas highlights on Houston Nutt's show. The pants stripe is triangular and starts wide and tapers to a point at the bottom of the leg. It's shaped like the Carolina Panthers, but it's all cardinal red and no logo. I would have preferred two cardinal stripes, or even one wide one like they used to have. But if this is price to pay for getting rid of the black trim, then so be it. Nutt said he liked having only two colors on the jersey and the classic look.
sacker12
San Jose State's New Nike Uni'sI like them. Remember several years back when they had some upstart company make those uniforms for them? The home unis were blue with black numerals and yellow outline. I've heard horror stories from San Jose State's equipment manager about there experiences with those uniforms.
