Giants/Jets brawl in "friendly scrimage"

I don't really understand the merits of a joint practice.

Just ask Ricky Williams.....

--------------------------

Veering back on topic for a second....as a Jets fan, it was kinda funny to see the Giants talking all big and bad AFTER the fact.

Eric Barton had a classic line...he railed Amani Toomer on one play and Toomer decided to show he was Mr. Tough Guy and start barking and woofing at Barton for what he thought was a late hit...Barton without batting an eyelash just said to Toomer, "How bout you make the playoffs"

Truth kinda stings, don't it, Big Blue? ;)

Poor Giants..they're just bitter that they're the "Other" New York team when it comes to football...

But with TWO Super Bowl Victories.....

Truth kinda stings, don't it? :P

maybe, but at least the Jets can beat a team from Baltimore when it matters most..that and actually hold a 3 touchdown lead in a playoff game....

"Half-Speed" or anything but full speed or walk thru is a joke and that's how people get hurt.

This happens everytime on football teams all across america at any level. Anytime you break from Full-Speed drills or walk thru's someone will step over the line and hit someone.

Just like Half Pads is a joke. Either everything or nothing. I don't understand how coaches haven't realized this yet.

Maybe the Jets need to learn to kick a field goal! Wha...what's that? Oh the bears got that guy now? Crap. :(

I think they have learned now with the addition of Mike Nugent

It was actually a bears joke more than a jets joke. I have no ill will towards any of the new york teams.

Having lived in the NY area I can tell you that everyone refers to the Jets as the "other" team. Especially when the Jets are the only team in the NFL to have to play in another team's stadium, and its looking like they'll continue to do that. As for beating a team from Baltimore when it matters most (yes I know about SB III), how about in 2000 when the Jets needed to beat the Ravens in the finale to clinch a playoff spot to salvage a 6-1 start but lost 34-20. Also, the Big Blue beat Denver when it mattered most, unlike the Mean Green (98 AFC Title), and Buffalo (81 AFC Wild Card).

It takes a real man to defend a sports team when no ill will was even aimed at it.

:notworthy:

PCGD meant no ill will about the Mike Nugent thing...I read that. I didn't see anywhere where it said there was "no ill will" to the comments I'm debating against. It also takes a real man to comprehend.

Tri-State area native here (born & bred in western CT). Been a Jets fan since the days of Richard Todd, Wesley Walker, Freeman McNeil, the excrutiatingly bad Johnny Lam Jones experiment at wideout, and the NY Sack Exchange...

I'll agree the G-Men have had the lion's share of the pub over that time, but it's starting to change a bit....you'd have to think a team that has been a consistant playoff participant over the last few years (even with only advancing beyond WC weekend only 2 times in that span) would get a bit more pub than a team that's made 1 trip since the 2000 season...but then again, for the sake of example, the Devils have been one of the best teams in the NHL the last 10 years, but we all know the Tri-State (well, except for some bastions of defiance in north Jersey and the Island) is Rangers country..and they haven't done diddly since 1997...
