Bleujayone
Sports oriented comic strip "Tank McNamara" has a annual contest every year called, "Sports Jerk of the Year" where the readers nominate those who have done the most to hurt sports and the enjoyment thereof.I was wondering, who might you nominate for such a title. Some of the people I've thought of included, Terrell Owens, Rafael Palmeiro, Kenny Rogers, The NHL, Randy Moss, George Steinbrenner, Ron Artest, Ricky Williams, and Lou Piniella. I'm sure many of you have your own picks. http://www.toonopedia.com/mcnamara.htm
Swiss
It's funny to see this face:Perhaps he must think "why did I back one week soon?" after Texas 5 - Boston 16.

otherwilds
Did the Artest incident occur this year? Nitpicky I know. Did y'all see his interview on ESPN where he says noone will throw any thing at him from the strands again. My votes go to Kenny Rogers and T.O. HatCityEnforcer
My list was in no particular order, but if I had to...1. Palmiero2. Rogers3. TO4. Artest5. Williams
Cujo
If it's Jerk of the Year for 2005, you gotta throw out Artest and Ricky cause they were both last year.My vote would go for Owens because he truly is a jerk. Palmiero IMO is not really a jerk, he's just not a very smart guy.
Jigga
It has to be Terrell Owens! I heard Webster's is going to place his picture next to the word "jerk" in their new dictionary.

Gamingboy
The definition of Jerk:Dictionary.com:Slang. A foolish, rude, or contemptible person.Merriam-Webster Online: an annoyingly stupid or foolish personOkay so let's go through our canidates:Rafael Palmeiro:Foolish: Yes.Rude: Depends on who your talking too.Contemptible (deserving scorn or full of contempt): Up in the air. No perjury charges have been filed yet. And he hasn't said anything yet, so it's too soon.Annoying: Not as much as some of the other canidates.Stupid: Yes.Kenny Rogers:Foolish: Yes.Rude: Yes.Contemptible: Heck yes.Annoying: Yes.Stupid: Yes.Terrell Owens (Alias "T.O.)Foolish: Heck yes.Rude: Yes.Contemptible: Very.Annoying: Most annoying person in all of sports. And that's saying something.Yes: Yes.I'd say then it's in his order:3. Palmeiro2. Rogers1. T.O.Rogers and Palmeiro are definitely up there. But the history of T.O.'s antics, stupidity and undescribable weirdness (doing sit-ups in your DRIVEWAY! For the MEDIA?!?!!) push him to the top.By the way:"Dishonorable mentions": Rickey Williams, Gary Sheffield, Ron Artest, that guy who jumped onto the net at Yankee Stadium, The T-Ball coach who told a player to injure a autistic child so that he wouldn't have to play him, the Arbitrator who let Rogers return early, Jeremy Roenicke and finally: the IOC, for being European snobs. Andy
I have to go with Rogers, I think assaulting cameramen is worse than being arrogant. Plus, at least T.O. can fall back on his amazing Super Bowl performance.
