Twins Concept

I know these uniforms have been done over and over but as a Minnesotan I figured I had a right to take a shot at what I'd like to see them wear :P .

The blue jersey would be the regular home/road alternate whereas the red would be a special occasion type of alternate. The cream homes would be best worn in a park not named the Metrodome.

Things I like:

The blue cap with the red bill.

The red and blue alternate jerseys.

The Minnesota script on the road uniforms.

Things I don't like:

The cream-colored home uniform. It should be white.

The logo. I like the shaking hands Twins logo.

Something I'm caught in the middle on:

The piping instead of pinstripes. It's more traditional for the Twins to use pinstripes instead of piping (although they did go through a period, the sans-a-belt period, where they didn't wear pinstripes ... and they sucked, too). But the piping does look sharp, especially on the road, blue and red jerseys.

wow, i can't believe that someone hasn't commented about a detail overlooked here:

no one on minnesota's 40-man roster wears number 47 - torii hunter wears 48...

ok, so i'll admit that the facts really don't matter in this case, but i am a man of details...

this is a very nice set, though - - i like what i see...

I feel like an idiot. It's been so long since I've seen him play I forgot his number.

Nice set of uniforms. As a Twins fan, it's completely not my cup of tea, but on a purely aesthetic basis I like your ideas.

Couple of quibbles: The Twins have had three eras of greatness now, and each time they wore pinstripes. They went pinstripe-free for a decade or so, and sucked. Not like big-league sucking, but like double-A club playing the Yankees sucking. Being a pre-teen Twins fan in the early 1980s might very well be the single most traumatic experience of my life. I do not want to be reminded of that awful time in Twins history with non-pinstriped uniforms.

The whole look just reminds me too much of Cleveland. I can see dumping the pinstripes to look less like the White Sox, but not at the expense of looking more like the Offensive Toons.

Also, Minnesota is a beautiful state. And I don't mean the scenery, although that is beautiful too. I mean the shape of the state. It looks too good not to be a patch or part of the logo.

The underline under the Minnesota script is too thick. It distracts me from the letters, and it's even thicker than the line under the Twins script.

If you're going to keep the TC logo, you need to improve on it some. As it is, the red C offers too little contrast with the navy cap. At any distance under anything less than perfect lighting, a TC cap just looks like a white T with some stitches missing. An all-white TC looks good; I've got a cap with that. And an all-red TC with a white outline would be sharp, too. Two-letter cap logos with two colors and no outline have all but died out, and for a good reason.

But that's all nitpicking. If the Twins weren't my favorite AL team, and if I didn't have some pretty strong prejudices about how the Twins should look (which is to say, I want the Twins to look exactly like they did in 1991), I'd love this concept.

The reason for the heavier underline under the Minnesota script (as was used on Twins jackets in the 1960s) was so the word "TWINS" would be in there. Since that isn't on this concept, a thinner underline, as BallWonk indicated, would be desired.

Alright I made the tail on the Minnesota script a bit thinner and made a pinstriped home. I'm not quite sure how I'd fit it in because I like the cream colored ones . Maybe I could make the red the BP or something. Input appreciated.
