Try here, not the best but all I could find.

If I'm not mistaken, those pictures are of the tokyo dome. If you look at the last picture on the first page, in the top left hand corner you can see it says

YO DOME. You can also see many Japanese advertisments in the background.

The ones were they are in the White Jersey's are the Tokyo Dome game. Blue is RCA.

NexTurf, or Nexturf, or whatever is another "artificial grass" surface (as opposed to artificial turf, or paint-the-asphalt-green). The hybrid surface is DD GrassMaster, which is grass with plastic blades put into it (see HERE) to make it, they hope, stand up better. That's being used now at Invesco Field at Mile High. There was also another surface that was supposed to use a screen through which the grass was supposed to grow, and that too was supposed to make the grass hold up better. But I don't think that's used anymore.

Go figure -- you can grow grass in New England, and Philly, and Pittsburgh, and GREEN BAY, but not in Cincinnati or Baltimore. Or Madison.

The Eagles also used the Grassmaster on the field at Lincoln Financial Field. Interesting machine. Watched it during the process. The turf is laid like normal, and then two Grassmaster machines go up and down the field, implanting the small plastic fibers.

watched a bit of the Bears-Rams game, and the Rams' endzones are no longer blue...I didn't get a real good look at the endzone, but IIRC it simply has the Rams wordmark by itself now.

So that would leave the Colts as the sole team with colored endzones. Right?

The Rams are leasing FieldTurf for this year. It comes out after the season, I forget what happens then, but AstroTurf won't be returning.

As for the field, like last year (which IIRC was the first year of this), the Ram head logo is at midfield. In the endzones is just the Rams wordmark, I believe without ST. LOUIS above it, but I don't remember for sure. As mentioned, it is not a blue endzone any longer.

The thing I found interesting is that the logos appear to be very very light, almost opaque. I wonder if that has to do with the fact that this is temporary turf.

A bit off topic...One of my favorite details on nfl 2k5 was playing on feildturf, and the little clouds of sand that would kick up. like this:field turf bits

Ahhhh i hate playing a game on field turf. I played a game on it over a year ago and im still finding little bits of black rubber in my old football uniform

It takes a while getting used to, but it really helps us when we are cleaning uniforms after the game. We don't have to worry about cleaning out mudstains from the pants or jerseys after home games. The black pellets in the shoe doesn't bother nearly as much as finding bright green fibers in your shoes after playing on AstroTurf.

And the Seahawks.

Smart is believing half of what you hear. Genius is knowing which half.

same, my school switched to it last year. The black stuff, no matter how tight you tie your shoes still finds a way in. The black pellets are all over the school too.

Played on Field Turf for 2 years and prefered it to natural grass. Yes, I said it.

As a player, you got the same grip no matter the weather. Pouring rain, snow, dry whatever, it was pretty much teh same grip. The black things are a minor inconvience. Now, I'll admit, I've never played on a GOOD grass field, so perhaps its not better. But for any college or school that has multiple sports play on one field, its a godsend. Where I went they had too many people (mens and womens soccer, football, various baseball and track practices, Intermurals) on the field in the Fall. this made the field worse than turf by midseason.

I can tell you the opaque rams logo is probably a result of them painting the green blades instead of using different colored blades of field turf. We didn't have hash marks put into our field, but they were painted on. You could easily tell the difference between those and the regular lines and they would wear down completely by mid season. I'm guessing that's what they did in st. louis.

I noticed on the Colts' new turf the red/white/blue stripe, which used to be the 20-yard lines, is now the 25-yard lines. I always thought those striped lines were on the 20 to signify starting point after a touchback. Anyone know why they would be on the 25? Is this an error?

Here's a question: Which do you like better. Fieldturf painted, or fieldturf with the logos sewn into the fibers?

I like the Fieldturf that gets painted. It makes it look even more like grass, it keeps it that one step closer to real earth.

With the logos sewn into the fibers, it looks no better than astroturf.
