Did any hear Ray Lewis' comments on Terrell Owens on ESPN? He was absoultely, 100% right! We are hearing wayyyyy to much about the Eagles. People are getting sick and tired of it, and we aren't paying enough attention to the Patriots who are friggin' Super Bowl Champions! They did this throughout the Super Bowl weekend as well. All attention on the Eagles. <_<

Agreed...

Enough about TO. He's an all world wideout, but a piece of plop. I'm not one to wish injury on a guy, but it's getting to the point that I'm hoping someone in the NFC East would bring Chuck Cecil out of retirement to just rail him.

Hello...there's 31 other teams in the league ESPN...some halfway intriguing stories too...(Can the Pats win without Crennel and Weis helping Bellichek? Does Brett Favre have one vintage Favre season left in the tank? Can the Chiefs possibly send Vermeil out a winner? Will Drew Bledsoe be the savior in Dallas? Can Ben Roethlisberger do it again for the Steelers? Can GanjaMan in Miami be able to be as productive as he was before he devoted all his time to the 'erb? For that matter, can Nick Saban lead the Fish back to something resembling respectability? Will Peyton Manning ever win a game on the road when it matters...wait, we already know the answer to THAT question? )...oh wait..there's a report that T.O's going to the can? Well, we have to break in on ESPN, ESPN2, and ESPNEWS for the latest...

Exactly. During the Super Bowl, they talked about how "heroic" T.O. was for playing. They resembled him to Kirk Gibson and Curt Schilling. But there's a problem with that. Both Gibson and Schilling WON! God, I think people in Philly even hate Owens.

I agree.

We've heard so much about the Eagles and T.O. that a person who woke up from a coma a few days ago would think:

1. The Eagles won the Super Bowl.

2. The Eagles need T.O. to get to the playoffs (which, as has been pointed out, they were able to do before they had him, and even Last year they did it without him in the playoffs).

3. That all the other sports that are ACTUALLY PLAYING GAMES THAT COUNT RIGHT NOW (See: Baseball, Golf, Tennis, Car Racing, Soccer......) are all on Strike.

T.O. stand for "Time Out" already! Owens has always been an attention whore, and the media has been playing into it. If anyone from ESPN, NESN, The Score, TSN, ESPN2, ESPN Classic, Fox Sports Net, YES, WGN, SI, Sporting News, or any other sports news branch is reading this; please for the love of all that is holy, I don't care if Terrel Owens has been seen on the I-95 holding up traffic sitting in the center lane playing solitare with Deal-A-Meal cards in the nude- nobody is interested in anything he does or says. It's pretty bad when a team can win 3 out of the last four Super Bowls and not get any props, and another team gets all the attention because they have a bitchy, showboat millionaire that doesn't have an ounce of class in him.

To all 49er fans, it was worth it getting this brat off your hands, I'd endure a few lousy seasons to rebuild than put up with this BS. Mark my words there wil be a mutiny in the Eagles' locker room before the season is out.

What the Eagles need is a scene out of "Playmakers" where linebacker Olcyzk picks up the team's prima donna running back "D.H." by his throat and says, "I will break you at the knees!"

This is worse than all the basketball coverage AND Stephen A. Smith's show. Seriously. Why did they give that :censored: his own show?

Be thankful you don't get ESPN 1050 out of the City...

SAS has a 2 hour radio show daily too.

[sarcasm] FUN TIMES! [/sarcasm]

Thank GAWD I don't have a radio at my cube at work...otherwise, I'd have to pop my eardrums with a letter opener just so I don't hear SAS going on about something that he has no knowledge about (aka most of the day's top sports stories)...

Well Stephen A. Smith only knows basketball and football. He knows a little baseball and no hockey. One time he was on PTI and he refused to talk about a hockey subject. I feel that if you want your own show about sports, cover all sports! Not just 2 or 3 that you like.

This just in . . . we're getting confirmation of both corn and black olives and there's an unsusbsantiated report of a failure to wash hands.

Imagine how bad it is here in Eagles Nation.

I don't even turn on 610 any more. I'm O.D.'d on T.O.

My wife is not from around here (stinkin' Giants fan that she is), and I think she's about 1 or 2 news stories about reporters camped out in T.O.'s driveway from smashing a TV.

The only good thing about the T.O. frenzy is that the Phillies have quietly taken over the wild card lead, since no one is paying attention. At this rate, the Flyers have until after the first of the new year to perform without being noticed.

Yeah, and it went under the rug that Billy Wagner (one of the very few Phils that most fans don't despise) ripped the Philadelphia fans. "All they do is spell out Eagles." He says we don't know what we're watching or booing at, all we care about is the Eagles, the players are sick of hearing about how good the Eagles are, etc.

What he fails to mention is that his team has given people no reason to care or be excited for 12 years. They are a bunch of over paid underperforming prima donnas with no personality, leadership, or heart (Utley and maybe Howard aside.) Their poor ownership and management (how bout Wade getting an extension? WTF!) does nothing to make the situation better. Philadelphia is a baseball town at heart, but it has been stolen from us for the past 20+ years. The excitement in '93 rivaled the Eagles excitement, but it is a shame now that they make it so hard to root for them. I hate them, yet I root for them some how.

There is absolutely no way one could compare what T.O. did to what Schilling and Gibson did.

Heck, I even have trouble comparing what Schilling did to what Gibson did. And what Schilling did was awesome, bloody sock at all. But what Gibson did was one of those things you'd tell your grandchildren and they would say, "No way."

T.O.? He's nowhere near these two.

Amen, BBTV.

I remember when the Marion Campbell Eagles were an afterthought. Hell, I vaguely remember 1980, and parades. I've heard the stories.

What's keeping Brian Roberts from raiding his Comcast Petty Cash drawer and buying the Phils out from under Monty and the Teflonics, and giving Slow Eddie his deserved walking papers?

I've gone to games, I just haven't paid for them. I can't justify spending money on this administration as long as they function like they do. I remember $12 seats for the 200 level at Phillies games. Those were the days.

P.S. This is the ownership group that made you beg for Hatfield Phillies Phranks to return after the failed Chicken Hot Dog Experiment. Only in Philadelphia.

ESPN is an NBA-oriented thug network.

Stephen A. Smith needs something to do during the NBA's couple months of offseason besides polishing Iverson's and Kobe's sacks.

Remember when ESPN used to show highlights on SportsCenter? Now it's basically the "Stu Scott Show", where he greets his favorite NBA and NFL players like Ray Lewis and "Bron-Bron", calls them "Mah Dawg!", and gives them a series of secret handshakes.....

First of all: Stephen A Smith is a dumbass, moran, that should have a sock permentantly glued into his mouth, and his pants should be around his ankles, and his ass should be hangin onto the road so people can walk by and kick him.

Ok I went to far, but I caught his show, and crap.

Anyway, the TO story was interesting. Now its old and stale. TO just isnt as interesting anymore. Thats what overexposure does to you.

<Grandpa Simpson> When I was a lad, they were Medford Phillies Phranks...and we liked it.</Grandpa Simpson.>

Unfortunately, Comcast doesn't need the Phillies. They bought the Sixers and Flyers pretty much to guarantee programming and eliminate SportsChannel. They already have the Phillies locked up for the next x amount of years, so there's no need to buy them. Gosh, that would be sweet, though. If their org-structure would remain the same after the purchase, Ed Snider would technically be running the Phillies! They'd be a bunch of slow goons, but it would make for fun baseball.

(OK, the slow-goons comment was a bit out of line considering the past offseason, so I take it back.)

ya I remember that, It was a serious story like 'Peter Forsberg is hurt, how can the Avalanche do without him'. His exact words were something like "who cares, it's hockey." The rest of the minute 20 was a conversation between him and whoever else was on that day about why hockey sucks. Made me so mad. I swore I would never watch him again after that.
