Anybody seen logos like these?

Can't say that I've ever seen anything like them before.

When the L.A. Avengers started up in Arena Football a few years ago, I recall coming across their wordmark logo en espanol on their website ("Avengeros", if my Spanish recall is right). I believe it was part of a marketing plan geared toward the Latino community in the L.A. area. I wish I would've saved it, for I have not come across it since then. I always thought making such an alteration to their logo to cater to a specific audience (as Baylor and TT have now done) was unique.

About the Red Raiders, it's a nickname not completely translated.

In Castillan (bad called "Spanish"), the word Raiders doesn't exist.

Its approximated translation would be "Saqueadores" (exactly "Plunderers").

Verb to raid --> verbo incurrir (in Castillan) --> to make a sack in wartime.

I agree with you that all that stuff is a marketing move to win some Latin consumers.

In Castillan, "Avenger" is "Vengador". L.A. Avengers = Los Vengadores de L.A.

Talking about the Latin marketing, I just did some remarks concerning the "Gigantes" jersey in this topic if you want to read it. Perhaps that startes a slow and sure trend among the MLB franchises.

I remember a logo back when the SLE existed :D it was a UTEP logo, and it read Los Mineros de UTEP. The miner was in a different pose than in the regular logo, though (he's running as opposed to using his pick)

In fact, UTEP is the only one I actually ever recall seeing in espanol before these two.

Actually, these Spanish logos're pretty sweet, especially considering the regin they're in. It'd be cool if the whole southwestern U.S. did this (Texas, New Mexico, Arizona, Nevada, maybe Colorado).
