Just been out to California and checked out games at all the NL parks and PETCO is amazing, we caught an afternoon game on a thursday (it was full) and then popped over to Balboa park, which shows how great a downtown location is (SI complained about lack of stuff outside the park and Miller has nothing.....hmmm) and its right next to the gaslamp quarter.....SD has a compact walkable downtown anyway......

Dodger Stadium is looking worn but we stayed on a new motel just down the street so we could walk up there, but SBC was cool

Wrigley still the best I've been to (4 years ago) great atmosphere

Also problem with "Average cost of concessions and souvenirs" well if one place sells loads of cheap stuff and a limited amount of official merchandise (ie Jerseys, Caps, etc) then obviously the price will be low they shouldn't lump food and souvenirs together............

ps Giants fans much more pasionate than Dodgers fans who complained incessantly.......

Did you read how and why the various places were rated? Calling it a Stadium ranking in the thread header is a misnomer. Their rankings took into account the cost of a game (both tickets and concessions); cost/availability of parking; and amount of amenities available in and around the stadium (among other things, such as the performance of the team this year).

While the atmosphere of Wrigley, for instance, kicks Miller Park's a$$, for instance, the overall appeal is better for Miller Park on the basis of what they rated.

It's where I sit.

I didn't see the Vet listed on there.

Some "list"... <_<

I'm amazed... this thread is full of people who cannot read

How do you know the people posting on this thread cannot reap? And what on earth does reaping have to do with ballparks? I'm thoroughly confused.

This thing was cleary written in a New York state of mind. So much is done about public transportation. Like nobody in the country drives?

I think accessibility has to be taken into context when judging ballparks, but it should be a minor one. Atmosphere is the main thing that makes a ballpark.

And, by the way, OMFF, you would have a kick-ass time at Mount Rushmore. The Black Hills is (are?) a great place to go to.

Shea Stadium at #30? U gotta be kidding me! It should be a little higher than that.

Thats what I thought, but if you think about it more, not really. You pay a very high price to go to a stadium that isn't up there with the best. Fan friendly? Nah. Look at the neighborhood around it, I'd rather have a sea of parking lots sometimes.

I'm amazed Camden Yards isn't even in the top half. I also don't agree on rating a ballpark based on how the team performs. If I'm touring all the ballparks (which I assume would be one of the main, if not the main, purposes of this guide) I really don't care how good the team is. I'm just there to see another ballpark and have a good time there. Other than that my only other complaint with the guide is that accessibility is evenly rated with all of the other categories. I probably won't enjoy having to park far from a stadium, however it wouldn't ruin my entire trip there.

I have a problem with what they say about Dolphins Stadium. First off, you are no where near Interstate 75 or 95; it is next to the Florida Turnpike. Second, you can't even see the streets from inside the stadium. I will say that I don't think it is that bad a place to watch a baseball game. I think that honor goes to the Trop in St. Pete.

Yeah they blew that big time.

Depending on where you sit is what determines how your experience is.

Anything along the lines is utter crap.

Anything behind home in the lower bowl and upper deck are great.

Power Alley is excellent.

The Fish Tank is a great section for the price.

The humidity is HORRIBLE on some days. I went yesterday and thought I was in a sauna.

That was an attempt at sarcasm. Apparently a poor attempt. I can read just fine.
