Sterling84 Posted September 6, 2005 Share Posted September 6, 2005 While I roundly encourage "Illustrator-itis" and your enthusiasm for making concepts.......this doesn't look like a Macaw.I love concepts that feature unusual animals.....so get to know your subject matter and what makes it unique. THis concept could be a red eagle just as easily. Macaws don't have beaks for hooking fish or ripping flesh, but for cracking nuts and fruit. They have amazing coloring and striping and that "elephant" skin texture around their eyes.I'm excited for you......take this to step 2. These are some vibrant bad-arses.The species you are depicting is the Scarlet Macaw. There is a blue and gold version as well.
