VitaminD Posted September 27, 2005 Share Posted September 27, 2005 When they came out on the field I thought something wasn't right with the jerseys. Darn right there was. The jerseys were black! Black alts are so completely wrong for the Eagles. When your primary color gets darkened from kelly green to midnight green, which is the basis for your primary home jerseys and your helmets, you do not need black jerseys.Black was nor an Eagles color for their first 60+ years, green/white and green/silver/white were just fine. Then Lurie came in and changed everything. And I've grown to really like the midnight green. But the black is unnecessary beyond its use as a trim color. And it really clashes with dark green helmets.More confusing still, why break out black against the Silver & Black? Are we regressing that much that we think it'll psyche out the Raiders if we take the field in their traditional colors? Ooh, that'll git 'em - it's not bad enough we make the Raiders wear white, but then we'll show up wearing their beloved black! We're gonna rule the playground!Oy vey. "Start spreading the news...
