Best and Worst Mascots

*sigh* no photos, even on GIS, but the two worst in pro history:

runnerup- "Packy Packer," a fat guy in a butcher's apron who ran around at Green Bay games in the 80s. (This was part of the NFL Huddles collection that also gave us Rowdy of the Cowboys)

all-time winner - "The Candlestick Crab."

Crazy Crab for the SF Giants was GREAT! Poor guy was pelted with beer everytime he set foot at Candlestick.

Their current mascot, Lou Seal, sucks the big one. Looks like a giant rat and is as annoying as such.

The worst, Hoops of the Washington Bullets. He's in the center right; just behind the Delaware Blue Hen:

These threads are cool, but people need to be open and unbiased. Nobody wants to conceed that someone else has a better mascot, etc. It gets a little rediculous.

the thread might as well be "Post your schools mascot".

my vote goes for the Phoenix Suns Gorilla as the best.

um no it's not, he's not the best there is, don't forget, he was also inducted into the Macot Hall of Fame with The Gorilla, and the San Diego Chicken, and he isn't even the best one in the field

I think if you look at some, there are those that give other teams/schools their props...

Personally, if I had to choose, I'd go with the Hokie Bird for VaTech.

I am obviousy a Arizona sports fan but the only biased one I had on my list was Sparky, I will admit to it...However, The Gorilla is with out a doubt (In my Opinion) the best mascot there is...He has more history then most of these mascots combined and I will tell ya, there is nothing better then watching him do his dunks and make fun of whoever gets in his way.
