05 World Series patch

I don't mind the abbreviating, especially if it's just the cap logo.

What I don't like is (as someone already mentioned) the colors being swapped on the MLB logo, and I also don't like that ugly brown-green color on the longitude lines...there's no reason they couldn't be white or gold.

I'm surprised they haven't highlighted the fact that this is the 100th World Series...

They kinda already did the centennial WS stuff in 2003....granted it was only the centennial YEAR of it and not the actually centennial series...

To acknowledge that this is the 100th World Series two years after the centennial year would require some explanation or mention of the cancelled serieses -- a subject MLB probably wants to avoid.

(Is serieses a word?)

Yah, 1994's still a sore subject amongst baseball fans...1904 they could explain seeing that nobody's left that actually remembers it.

Wasn't 2004 actually the 100th World Series? It was according to, of all websites, http://www.worldseries.com.

--Roger "Time?" Clemente,

Where are you seeing this? I was going off of THIS...

"The 100th World Series begins Saturday, October 22 with the Astros hosting as many as three games on Tuesday, October 25, Wednesday, October 26 and Thursday, October 27."

2005 - 1903 = 102nd anniversary... as we all know to get 'number of seasons' you have to add 1... so 102+1 = 103. Subtract the two cancelled series', 103-2 = 101.

Therefore, this is the 101st.

Uhh, Chris you did that wrong. 2005-1903 does = 102 but then you have to subtract one to get the anniversary date. So this would be the 101st anniversary. (The 1st anniversary would have been 1904) Add one to get the year, you get 102- the 2 cancelled makes it 100.
