Surely, Plummer's decision not to don the green decal is related to the NFL's stance on honoring guys like Tillman.So like Cosmo Kramer, who refused to wear an AIDS ribbon during an AIDS walk, Plummer is sticking it to the man. And we applaud him for it.The story, we suspect, isn't over. The league office likely will be taking a stand on this one. If it doesn't, other players might be emboldened to not wear the ribbon in the future.Look for a fine or some other form of public knuckle-rapping for Mr. Plummer. It's gonna cost him like $50,000, but I say screw it (the $50,000 goes to charity anyway). The league should have granted him special permission to honor someone the league honored who was a former teammate at ASU and with the Cardinals a bit longer than other players. Besides, how the hell can they mandate everyone wear a fluffing sticker to celebrate a meaningless game between two horrendous teams when they have not mandated a sticker for the fluffing hurricane victims or the player that died in the preseason... Last year, when he said that he was going to wear that Tillman sticker, I starting loving them, and now I could careless what he does. He was completely right to wear the 40 decal.
