yh Posted October 7, 2005 Share Posted October 7, 2005 TV1970s-1982: dunno who the color guy was, but I know the PBP on the TV broadcasts for the Rangers was Jim Gordon (more known as the radio voice of the Giants for quite a long time) I believe the name you're looking for is Bill "The Whistle" Chadwick.Beleive it or not, growing up in Jefferson City, MO, our cable system used to get the MSG Network and we got every single home Rangers game, which for a number of years while the Blues were on a St. Louis station we didn't get, was the only pro hockey I could watch as a kid. Chadwick was a retired NHL ref and was very entertaining to listen to. Incidentally, Jim Gordon died just about a year ago (maybe slightly longer ago - I remember seeing his obit in the NY Times).
