What's your second team?

Something i've noticed on these boards is that most people have a second favorite team. A team they'll root for if their own isn't doing well, or just a team they have an affinity for. List them here.

NHL #2 - Boston Bruins

NFL #1 - New York Giants

NFL #2 - New York Jets

I always root and get involved in baseball. About the other sports, I only watched them when I had wish to watch them.

Dear J. Quincy King, at least you like a team based in Boston! Congrats!

NHL #1: Mighty Ducks of Anaheim

NHL #2: Ottawa Senators (reason)

NHL #3: Toronto Maple Leafs

MLB #1: Toronto Blue Jays (though I get less and less excited about them every year)

MLB #2: There is no better time to say it (although it's probably likely I'll be ridiculed for it) I might as well officially declare it the Chicago White Sox. Since 1994, I've had a strange attraction to this team. My uncle bought me a pack of white socks with the SOX logo on them and I thought they were the coolest thing ever. And the Sox alternate jersey is one I've been itching to get for the past three years because it's such a damn nice jersey.

NFL #1: Pittsburgh Steelers

NFL #2: I can't really say for certain....probably the New Orleans Saints, even before the hurricane...then again, there's a part of me that I wouldn't mind seeing the Indianapolis Colts succeed for once.

NBA #1: Hell if I know.

NBA #2: That's an even tougher one.

NFL #1 - Minnesota Vikings

NFL #2 - Cincinnati Bengals (started liking as a kid for their uniforms)

NHL #1 - Minnesota Wild

NHL #2 - Calgary Flames (Jordan Leopold went to my High School)

(I know my Big Ten loyalty is spread pretty thin, but only Wisconsin am I hardcore about)

My affinities for my #1s are unhealthy. I think I'll die of a heart attack during a Wisconsin football game someday. When my #2s are playing is when I actually am a healthy fan--I cheer for them, but it is not live or die.

I don't have back-up favorites, but if my teams (philly teams) are not in the playoffs I will find someone to root for. Some examples of this:

- This year's White Sox

- Houston Rockets championship teams (Hakeem was my fav. player)

- 2003-04 Calgary Flames

- 2001 NE Patriots

"The views expressed here are mine and do not reflect the official opinion of my employer or the organization through which the Internet was accessed."

Dr. Kelso: My son is a big baseball fan. Not so much playing it, but more the designing and sewing of uniforms.

Tyler: That's neat.

Dr. Kelso: No, it's not.
