sbirgells 0 Posted November 9, 2005 Bloomington ExtremeUgh. This is bad.
PackerBadger 5 Posted November 9, 2005 ??Extreme? is a great name not only for an automobile dealership, but also for a football team.To quote the late Dr. McCoy in "Star Trek," "In a pig's eye."
ClutchIsEverything 7 Posted November 10, 2005 Hmmm. I'd agree. New team in a new arena equals a nice opportunity to really take hold of the market, I don't think that name is the first step.
pcgd 272 Posted November 10, 2005 is Dan O'Brien part of the O'Brien Automotive Team, with the screaming mitsubishi ads in the Champaign area?If so I hope the team does awful.
KCScout76 135 Posted November 10, 2005 Absolutely Horrible - and you thought Halloween and all the horror was over -That's just plain 'crap' (sorry Chris for the harsh language)
sscrunner06 0 Posted November 10, 2005 That is the most un-extreme "Extreme" logo I have ever seen.
Captain Apollo 12 Posted November 10, 2005 I'm guessing the owners 8 year old designed it.
Sodboy13 5,551 Posted November 10, 2005 Boy howdy, that Collegiate is sure one helluva font, ain't it, kids?
KennyRock 2 Posted November 10, 2005 The Bloomington Extreme will have tryouts for local talent in December and a training camp in March before the season begins mid-March.Because, let's face it, no one outside of Bloomington, and very few inside it, I bet, cares.
leopard88 3,074 Posted November 10, 2005 It is a short step above the CBA's infamous Capital Region Pontiacs. I am not making this up. It was a team sponsored by the Albany area's Pontiac dealers. It might come in a tie with the CISL's Detroit Neon, which was obviously named after the Dodge automobile, since the wordmark is the same.
Burning River 8 Posted November 10, 2005 I have a buddy that played for the Neon... err.. neon. That is EXACTLY what they did. It was a total marketing campaign. The first year of the neon was the first year of the neon soccer team. Then.. in another stroke of genious, they became the Detroit Safari.Named after.. yep... the "Safari" vehicle.

Here it is in any case.
gashouser27 0 Posted November 10, 2005 This is a horrible name.So when this team relocates they can call it an "Extreme Makeover"
MisterE 0 Posted November 10, 2005 As a longtime lurker there is no better time than have my first post than now.I sent 4 nickname suggestions to the team's website when they had a naming contest before they decided to go with the dealership's name. The arena group will get what it deserves when the team folds/relocates in a year or two any way.Now I'll just have to hope our UHL team gets a better name.
