Don't be like those guys who wear a band's t-shirt to their concert.

Sounds like someone has seen PCU...

"You're wearing the shirt of the band you are going to see...don't be that guy, man."

I agree with those who are saying to only wear one sports article of clothing at a time. You completely avoid the situation this way. Well, unless you're like me and wear a St. Louis Cardinals jersey into the Vet the week after Scott Rolen got traded. Now that's where you get into trouble.

I'm with Gothamite...I try not to overdo it.

Now if I'm going to a game, it's no thing to wear a Missouri State t-shirt/sweater with a Missouri State hat. Or a Blues jersey and hat. But I feel strange wearing a team-branded shirt with a different-team branded hat at the same time...or both of the same team if I'm not at a game.

I don't wear hats much anymore, but when I do it's usually with a polo (if I'm covering an outdoor event at work) or non-sports t-shirt.

This sums it up for me as well.

My basic rules:

Never match two teams from the same sport.

Never wear rivals together (i.e. Duke hat with a UNC jersey).

And that's it. I try to keep to 1 team-based article of clothing at a time. My jersey wearing has been restricted to going to the games or watching with friends on the couch. Hat wearing's down to a minimum as well - such is growing up - but I do go with the hat/collared shirt combo if the colors are right. I start feeling silly if I am all decked out and NOT playing in the game I am watching.

In order for the Mets' run of 12 losses in 17 games to mean something, the Phillies still had to win 13 of 17.

That's a pretty good edict VitaminD...I happen to agree with that.

Once I graduated from college a year ago, the jersey-wearing went down. They don't allow jersey-wearing in the office lol. But when I do wear jerseys, it's usually when I'm playing the sport of the jersey, or going to a game, or hangin out watching a game with my friends.

But as far as a cap/jersey etiquette, matching colors always work. I also follow this rule of thumb, for the most part-

White jerseys with jeans

Dark jerseys with khakis/cargo pants

Also just subscribed to the "jersey that actually fits" club. Sure, in school it was cool to wear a XXL jersey and all, but nowadays, I'll take an actual fitting medium.

And on a side note - I've finally curved the bills on my 5950s. I grew out of the the straight-billed look.

I have "rules" and I "go for color"? "It looks tacky if you mix and match"? "I go with color coordination"? "Cap etiquette"? "Cap etiquette"?? Oh My God.

"I coordinate the entire look down to the shoes." What about your purse??

Listen to yourselves men. Do you actually read what you type before you hit send?

I'll usually wear the corresponding hat i.e. Heat jersey w/ Heat hat etc. If I have a jersey but not a hat to go with it, oh wait I don't haha! However, sometimes I'll wear my Titleist khaki colored hat just as something neutral so it's not a Heat overload or whatever team it is I'm wearing.

It knows it must outrun the slowest gazelle or it will starve. It doesn't matter whether you're a lion or a gazelle. When the sun comes up, you'd better be running." - Unknown | 🌐 Check out my articles on jerseys at Bacon Sports 🔗

I think you should only be allowed one logo per day. And you should try to avoid becoming "Jersey Guy" because "Jersey Guy" is also known behind his back as "Watching CSI With His Mom on Friday Night Guy."

Seriously, Jerseys tend to be cut for fairly athletic people, so if you aren't fairly athletic you should avoid the Jerseys. Take basketball jerseys (which shouldn't be worn in public in most cases). If you don't have strong arms it is very obvious. If you wear a t-shirt underneath you are telling the world you are really weak or you have a hairy back.

Football jerseys, although worn on the field by very fat men are made of shiny materials that make the fat even more noticeable. Even loosely worn jerseys show the fat off so if you aren't athletic avoid these. Hockey Jerseys look like tents on most people and the striping tends to makes butts and guts look bigger.

I think I've watched too much Queer Eye. Somebody shoot me now.

I can help you out and send a couple of Pistons hats/shirts so that you wear something that looks good! :P

Not to sound like I watch "What not to Wear" on TLC but you shouldn't wear two different items, from two different teams in the same league. I mean...WHERE IS YOUR LOYALTY???? I have often found myself wearing one of my Islanders jerseys and a hat and sometimes felt conspicuously overly blue and orange...I mean I love my Isles but sometimes you can overdo it. So wear whatever you want but don't mix-n-match same league teams and don't over do it. And about wearing a hockey hat and basketball jersey (or whatnot)...pick a sport for that day and run with that okay?

I usually try to wear a sports item that matches what im wearing. For example, i have a green and yellow polo shirt i wear with my A's road cap, or i have a black and orange trimmed trucker hat i wear with my Giants BP jersey. I usually dont care what team it is, if it looks good with something i have hanging in my closet that i wear, ill buy it

totally agree...nuthin like wearing an actual team hat with a polo or t-shirt rather than like a stupid GAP, Abercrombie, or Aeropostale brand hat.

At Cowboys games I'll typically wear a Dallas cap, and once in a while a jersey. Same thing for the Stars. The only people I notice are the ones, that wear a jersey not only unrelated to the cities in question, but the sport itself.

For example: it's the Dallas Cowboys versus the San Diego Chargers, and there's a guy walking around the concourse in a Washington Wizards jersey. He has every right, but I do scratch my head sometimes.

don't knock it til ya tried it...when you think about it, there's a lot of plop society frowns upon that would actually make a hell of a lot of sense to do.

in case you forgot, it's a free country. contrary to what the media would have you believe, there's no absolute way to be "manly." keep that in mind.

I never match two teams from the same sport, because it looks stupid to wear my Red Sox t-shirt with an Astros hat. Even then, I'm hesitant to wear apparel from two different teams, but if I do, I usually try to match colors (such as my Athletics hat with a green shirt).
