Seems like everyone who chose Bruce Holt is a RAMSFAN? Homers....

It's ok, just because you appear to root for almost the entire NFC South (judging from your sig and past posts) and there aren't 2 good wideouts in that entire division, I'm willing to cut you some slack on that false belief about the Arizona wideouts. Until then, feel free to call me a homer. :P

NFC South - Steve Smith, Joey Galloway, Joe Horn, Stallworth, Clayton....

Are those good enough?

The original premise here I think was to determine which WR duo is the class of the league. No TE's, no RB's, just WR's. With no disrespect to Greg Lewis and Reggie Brown, the best that I can think of would include:

Indianapolis: Harrison/Wayne

Cincinnati: Chad Johnson/Houshmandzadeh

Oakland: R Moss/Porter

Pittsburgh: Ward/Randle El

NY Giants: Burress/Toomer

Arizona: Boldin/Fitzgerald

St Louis: Holt/Bruce

Denver: Lelie/Rod Smith

Washington: S Moss/D Patten

Miami: David Boston/Chris Chambers

Dallas: T Glenn/Keyshawn Johnson

New England: Branch/Givens

Tampa Bay: Galloway/Hilliard

NY Jets: Coles/McCareins

Jacksonville: Jimmy Smith/ ...

... and this is where I run into trouble. Wilford, Reggie Williams, and Matt Jones are all pretty much at the same level of development, and that keeps Jacksonville from being narrowed down to 2. Detroit falls into the same trap, where Roy Williams is there, and another of their draft pick wideouts needs to step up to the #2 spot. Any teams I haven't mentioned ... that's intentional.

Cotls' duo is the best, but I think the Cardinals' shows the biggest upside.

Tampa Bay would be Clayton and Galloway, and Miami would be Chambers and Marty Booker because Boston is 3rd on the depth chart.

Doesn't matter how good Boldin and Fitzgerald are. They're relying on Kurt Warner and Josh McCown to get them the ball. There's your limiting factor that will keep them down on this list, and frustrated until they're eligible for free agency, at which point your dynamic duo gets broken up so they can go to teams that actually want to win

Wrong. Your limiting factor is Arizona's offensive game plan and running game. Kurt Warner isn't the problem. Josh McCown even showed he's not much of the problem. If these guys were the problem, would Fitzgerald be the leading reciever? Boldin's probably up there too, but he's been hurt.

Gotta agree with VD. Of course Fitzgerald's going to lead the team in receiving, who the hell else are Warner and McCown going to throw to? It's not like Fitzgerald is leading the league in receiving (though he is 4th). As you said, Boldin's been out a bit this season. True the running game is lacking, but Warner was supposed to be "the savior." The game plan is only the problem because of who's running it. Every play is designed to, if executed perfectly, to pick up a first down, depending on down and distance.

Stallworth? Ima go out there and call that somewhat of a stretch. Now take this as a homer statement if you will but i feel that the team in the NFC South that has the best recieving core is the Bucs.

<-- Maybee thats the reason i say this though.

sorry to bump this up M2TC, but

Holt: 10 rec, 130 yds, 13.0 AVG, 1 TD

Bruce: 4 rec, 94 yds, 23.5 AVG, 1 TD

Curtis caught a game-winning 56 yard TD pass in OT

This was done, mind you, with the 3rd string QB, a rookie the Rams drafted in the 7th round out of Harvard this year. :notworthy:

Jax

Smith 7 rec, 70 yds, 10.0 AVG

Wilford 2 rec, 28 yds, 14.0 AVG

Pearman (RB) 2 rec, 21 yds, 10.5 AVG

(It gets worse from there) :P

'Zona

Boldin 10 rec, 115 yds, 11.5 AVG

Johnson  5 rec, 77 yds, 15.4 AVG

Fitzgerald 4 rec, 41 yds, 10.3 AVG, 1 TD

I believe you are all incorrect, the best WR duo in the NFL is the combination of Chad Johnson and T.J. Housmanzadeh.

Today against the vaunted Ratbirds Defense.

Chad - 5 - 88 - 1 TD

T.J. - 9 - 147 - 1 TD

Chris (Henry) - 3 - 53 - 1 TD

This coming a week after their game against the Colts

Chad - 8 - 189 - 1

T.J. - 5 - 47 - 0

Numbers for the Season

Chad - 1,085 yards - 66 catches - 7 TD

- Chad leads the AFC in Receiving Yards by 335 yards over the next closest receiver

- 2nd in the AFC in Receiving Touchdowns

- Leads AFC in Receptions

T.J. - 655 yards - 51 catches - 3 TD

I don't even like Joe Horn, but that was two years ago. Drop it, because it wasn't funny. Also, how can you not take Galloway?

Did you see that Curtis TD? He made almost all of those 56 yards, if not all of them, after the catch!

So, they played the Niners (i.e. there was a reason the NFL played that game outside the US border) :P

And yes, I know I can't dump on San Fran until Christmas, but I believe the Rams passing attack lit them up as well.

Also, there were other games where Boldin and Fitz lit other passing defenses up...

Last week against the RAMS....(by the way they won that game as well)

Boldin 8 105 TD

Fitzgerald 9 104 TD

Vs. Carolina

Boldin 10 158 TD

Fitzgerald 9 136 TD

and there are many games where just one of them did over 130

another passing attack no one mentioned is the Vikings.

Travis Taylor, Marcus Robinson, Kelly Cambell, Nate Burleson, Troy Williamson.

THE RAMS LOST TO THE NINERS!!!

1) SO DID THE BUCS!!!

2) If you couldn't gain a hundred yards against the guys who the Rams were playing in the secondary in the 4th quarter of that game (which is where they collapsed) you don't belong in the NFL

Case in point-Andre Johnson picked up 159 yards against the Rams today and Davis got 120 cumulative yards rushing and recieving

Seriously-they're down to street free agents on that part of the field

3) Nobody mentions the Vikes because they automatically disqualified themselves by trading Moss in the offseason

Congrats against Carolina-did they win that one?
