dwertman 205 Posted December 1, 2005 They just said on the Leaf-TB game that Joe Thornton just got dealt to SJ for Brad Stuart,Marco Sturm, and Wayne Primeau.Intresting to say the least

dwertman 205 Posted December 1, 2005 (edited) There talkin about it now,and its on tsn.ca as breaking newsI think Brad Stuart is a heck of a player, but Boston took it hard in this onetsn.ca story Edited December 1, 2005 by dwertman
zer0dotcom 9 Posted December 1, 2005 (edited) The first thing that comes to mind is...thats it? it seems like Boston could have gotten more, or a bigger name player for Thornton. Though they could be freeing up some cap room, perhaps looking forwards to the off season already.Sharks got a steal(EDIT)I really don't follow the sharks that much, but I guess those three could have made up alot for the Hsarks, it'll be interesting to see where they fit in the Bruins line-up Edited December 1, 2005 by zer0dotcom

Andy 51 Posted December 1, 2005 But Thornton is one of the 5 best players in the league and their captain. I just don't see the point. Unless Thornton himself requested this trade, which may have been the case, I have to chalk this one up as a loss for Beantown. I guess we'll see how it works out though.

Jigga 40 Posted December 1, 2005 Why the fluff did they re-sign him for if they're gonna trade him not even 25 games into the first fluffing season? Damn, damn, damn...

kingssss 1 Posted December 1, 2005 Stuart, Sturm, and Primeau are 3 pretty talented players imo. But the Sharks definitely got a great player in this deal, and I say they made out better. This was unexpected, to say the least.

They probably don't even care who the Bruins got in this deal.

Trust me i aggree with you that San Jose got a HUGE player here, but i also feel that the three players that were delt also had big upsides, and theyve played togather for awhile so it shouldnt take too long to gel with the new team.

Who are you kidding, man?! Boston has given up on the 2005-06 season and I doubt that all three of these guys will remain in Boston next season. Stuart is the only one worth keeping IMO.

Ask Puckguy or any other Sharks fan, those three were talented and had a pretty decent upside. Whether they stay in Boston following this year i dunno, but Boston could have done worse. Anyway thats about as far as im gonna get into it.
Suigi 0 Posted December 1, 2005 Ohhh man, life must suck for Bruins fans.If the B's continue this downhill trend (my money sez they will), look for the Great Boston Fire Sale.
Camden Crazy 141 Posted December 1, 2005 WOW, never saw this coming. At least they traded him out of the East...great pickup by the Sharks.

I've seen these players enough to know Thornton is an all-star, franchise player, and could someday be a possibly MVP candidate and that Primeau is washed up, Strum, well, hes just average and Stuart might not ever reach his full potential.
Stampman 102 Posted December 1, 2005 The Sharks will miss Stuart, that's for sure, but Thornton more than makes up for it.And going by the old adage that the team that gets the best player wins the trade--well then the Sharks win on that basis as well.
